4.5" wide and 2.25" tall bowl, with a wooden striker. It weighs about a pound and is very solid and has a nice long lasting tone. As these are individually made, please note the engraving may not be exactly the symbols shown in the picture. A singing bowl is a type of bell shaped as a bowl. They come in many shapes and sizesand are made using seven metals, which are copper, tin, lead, iron, zinc, silverand gold. Singing bowls were traditionally made throughout Asia. The tradition continues today in Nepal, India, Chinaand Japan.

The metal bowl has a brass (not copper, as in the photo) appearance with a black painted interior with gold painted yin yang symbol and other embellishment and 4/5 black painted exterior with gold painted inscription and embellishment.
The 5" diameter pad isn't shown in the listing, but was decent quality, very pretty with a nice, embroidered lotus petal design in white, red, gold and blue surrounding a gold embroidered Om symbol in the center on a maroon velour pad with black hemmed edging. The bottom of the fairly thin pad is maroon nylon material.
The striker was pretty basic (5" x 1" approx.) and mine arrived unvarnished and rough in spots and needed sanding, which of course, did remove the stain. My understanding is, covering the lower portion of striker with leather or suede will improve the performance and decrease the clinking sound the striker makes as you rotate it around the circumference. I tried inserting it in a leather glove as an experiment and playing the bowl (haha) and that didn't work very well. I may just use it as is.
I bought one for my yoga practice and for my yoga students to enjoy either at the beginning of the class or to signal the end of shivasana. I bought another for a yogini friends' birthday gift which I know she will love. Perfect for use in meditation settings when beginning or ending as well.
I would recommend this and consider it an outstanding value!
However, next one I will purchase in person, so that I can get the color & shape I want.
Nevertheless I do not regret this purchase, especially for the price which is why I took a chance in the first place.
The striker is fine, not great. In the limited picture, the striker looks more attractive. It does the job, and will suffice. However, a slightly better striker would more create a more harmonious coupling with the bowl. (pardon the pun)
I was pleasantly surprised to find a thin circular mat, tucked into the bowl. To minimize the folds/creases, I have a flat object resting on the mat.
Quality of the striker, and slight imperfections in the paint, indicate a 4 star rating, The addition of the mat would gain 1/3 or 1/2 star.
The singing tone is clear, and in line with my expectations. Actually very easy to sustain the tone.
Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this item to interested buyers. To assist in your purchase, my singing bowl was purchased from Thamelmart. Based on various reviews for this and other singing bowls, it seems that there is a wide range of satisfaction with these items. Perhaps it's based on the different sellers.
I did not receive any discount or any other consideration. Hope this review helps.
Update: Wanted to share some information. Tested the singing bowl. It peak resonates at 629Hz. Research notes that this frequency relates to the heart chakra, dealing with aspects of relationships. Some frequencies exert stronger impact on specific chakra (Solfeggio Frequencies).
