If you're like me... you were debating between these two things. "Concert Ticket Album" (which I'll call "CTA") and "Just the Ticket" ticket organizer (which I'll call "JTT".) Both have great reviews on Amazon. But no reviews comparing them. So... I bought both so that I could report back to you, Gentle Reader.

They both aim to accomplish the same thing, and are priced within a dollar of each other. However, there are some differences between the two. I'll lay out those differences here:

Form factor: "Just the Ticket" has a thicker width on a bookshelf. Its form factor is a 1.75" binder with rings, whereas the Concert Ticket Album is a skinny bound book about 3/8ths of an inch thick. JTT is labeled on the spine, whereas CTA does not have enough room for words.

Size of tickets it will take: JTT has pockets that are 7.5" x 4" and will take tickets up to that size, but a ticket that size would cover up the label portion where you can write notes. So the practical usable size is 5" x 4". CTA's pockets are 5x5" x 2.75"-- that is, more sized for "traditional" tickets like the kind that ticket outlets have sold for years. CTA does have two larger pockets inside the front and rear covers that will hold up to size 6.25" x 4.5"; and JTT has one rear pocket that is about 9" x 6".

Quantity of tickets it will hold: Concert Ticket Album has 16 pages, with 3 tickets per side, plus two oversized. So that totals: 16 x 3 x 2 = 96 regular tickets plus two oversized tickets. Just the Ticket has 20 pages with 2 tickets per side, for a total of 80 tickets and no oversized tickets.

I bought this book a few years ago. Recently I was going thru it and found several of my tickets had faded. This book does not appear to be made with acid free plastic and has ruined quite a few of my tickets, some of which have only been in the book a couple months. I am now forced to look for something better to avoid losing all my tickets.

I bought this as a Valentine's gift for my boyfriend. He goes to at least 10 concerts a year (sometimes more). He keeps the ticket stubs, but just throws them in a drawer, so when I came across this album, I knew it was for him. He LOVED it! Note: This is made more for your "standard" tickets as pictured in the books sample photo. Now a days, there are larger tickets and even print at home tickets which is a full sheet of paper in size. While it does have a pocket on the inside cover where these non-standard tickets sizes can be stored, there is no other means for storage/viewing them other than that. All of the pocket inserts in the pages are for standard sizes. That's my one gripe.

I originally bought this ticket holder for my now ex boyfriend; he constantly went to see local bands, sporting events, and had some vip sports passes etc. He stored them in the small open space in his car under his radio which was unacceptable! I bought this book for him and he loved it. I loved the IDEA of it but not the actual book itself. I wish the book had outside tabs so you could seperate and easily find "sporting events" or "concert tickets" etc. The outside cover art was very cute but the quality of the cover and the binding was only mediocre. It felt cheap, kind of plastic-y. This is a great gift if it is not the only gift; I was VERY glad I had this as his "smaller gift" because I do not think it's substantial enough to stand alone as a gift. A cute idea would be to fill the first page with a new ticket or two as an additional present, plus it would get the album started.. Overall, decent, but not great for a real collector. There won't be enough pages, and the quality would make any true collector nervous about the condition of the tickets. But if it is just for a fun collector who wants to store, not preserve the tickets, its nice.

I've owned one of these for years and recently placed an order for a second album that just arrived today. As I was going through my old album, I've noticed that the pages were beginning to make the ink fade and in some cases disappear on my ticket stubs. On my old ticket album, the pages are different than the 2nd album I just received today. The old album pages are a crisper plastic cover that reminds me of the refill pages you used see in photo albums during the 70s and 80s. I think these pages contain some sort of acid that reacts with ink. In some cases, my ticket stubs were even stuck to the clear page.

With my new album that I received today, the pages are totally different and are made of a soft thin plastic. I believe these are acid free as they remind me of the same type of material used to store baseball cards. I'm still hesitant about putting tickets back on top of plastic in fear of losing more ink and fading over time. May just end up using photo corners and mount in a scrapbook instead.

I gave this to my husband as a gift for all his various concert tickets. He insists on keeping every one, but they sit in a drawer collecting dust. This was a fun way for us to both organize them by date, and remember all the fun times we've had going to shows...!
