I bought this new-fangled detergent box because I'm intrigued by the cost and materials savings--better for the planet and my pocketbook. The problem is that when it arrived, the product was already exposed (the spout sticking out) and the box was ripped in multiple places--see the photo. This meant that Amazon had to over-box it with another box, defeating the point of shipping it as-is and reducing packaging. "No box" was certainly the original intent because the box of Tide arrived with a label on it addressed to me, identical to the label on the outer Amazon box. I'm guessing the boxes can't survive the internal Amazon handling and the last point of delivery had to add the second box. All the rough handling broke the fancy stand the box was supposed to have to allow insertion of the cup underneath, but fortunately I have an edge in my cabinet I can utilize instead and didn't neat the (ripped) stand.
The detergent inside the failed box is powerful and smells awesome. It's highly concentrated and gets my clothes clean. I have to force myself not to use too much because it feels stingy compared to non-concentrated products (you use about 2/3 the amount, depending on the comparison brand). The liquid enzymes in the Tide also provide a much better stain removal than my powder detergent, which is of course even more economical than shipping liquid across the country.
Anyway, I'm only giving three stars because the whole point of this new product was to provide a new, innovative, e-commerce package that P&G and Amazon supposedly worked on together. They needed more testing in actual warehouses and delivery trucks. We're NOT THERE YET . . .

As far as the detergent is concerned, it has good thickness and sudsy value. And the clothes come out smelling good.
In the picture you can see the box is as tall as the bottle. Cutting one star because there is no way to get the last few drops. Tilting doesn't help. Finally, I cut open the box and made a small spout at one of the top tips to get more uses out of the left over detergent. So we do save the planet with the recyclable packaging, but we waste the soap.
Also the price per wash is more for the box than the bottle. But we can consider that our contribution to Mother Earth.
If you are a Tide fan, you will love it too. Go for it!
