Tides Inn - A British Pub Mystery Novelette Paperback – December 10, 2013
About the Author
The Author: Bill Wilke grew up in New Orleans, attended Louisiana State University, and is now retired with his wife Sally in the Lake Tahoe, Nevada area. He has spent much of his life working all over the world. Nineteen of these years were spent in the Middle East, and two in South and Central America. These worldwide experiences have created many travels throughout Europe. This novel, Tides Inn, evolved from the enjoyable days spent touring the United Kingdom, in which he managed to spend many hours indulging in a full bodied British ale in a cozy, atmospheric pub. One of his enjoyments is curling up with a British style homebrew and reading a good British murder mystery. This British Pub murder mystery grew from this pastimes. The Middle Eastern part of this international experience is the basis for two of his books, Maadi's Adventures in Egypt, where children of all ages are able to experience the antiquities, sights, and culture of exotic Egypt, and Doublestar Conspiracy, which is an action-packed, thought-provoking adventure novel for grownups. ~I enjoyed the story so much that I read it out loud to my wife during our work commute. She is not a murder mystery fan…and she enjoyed it! I think that says a lot for the author and story.
~Relax, settle into your favorite reading chair, and watch the sun set as you enjoy reading this clever little mystery.
~Oh, one other thing…it is a short story. Short stories are in a class all by themselves…it isn’t a full-length novel. People who complain that it is too short, should look at the description…says right there: 38 pages. If you want something longer…get a different story. Stop complaining that it wasn’t long enough! (okay, I’ll put my soapbox away not)
This is like a "closed room" mystery due to location of where the death occurs
I found it interesting and easy to read.
A few of things said in the story made me realize, or think I knew, who the murderer was,
but they weren't blatant.......just caught my attention
I would definitely consider another story or book by Bill Wilke
