Dark reads tend to make me feel dirty, depressed and often have me feeling like reaching for the nearest razor blade. Trisha's dark makes me feel deliciously naughty and wildly wicked! I love it!
With Ties That Bind is a faced paced, wickedly sexy and deviously thrilling read from the twisted mind of an uber talented author. I mean, seriously, who else can come up this stuff?
After furiously devouring every word in this book and finally getting what I wanted and needed most - a glimpse into the mind of the killer himself, my favorite part of all The Broken Bonds books - I still have questions. Who is the Alpha,? Who is the leak in the department? Will Quin find out if his suspicions about Sadie are true? Is he willing to even go there? AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, when will Quin finally get his rocks off? Okay, so he got a little taste but not nearly enough to cure the worst case of blue balls I have ever read!
I can't remember the last time I had so much fun reading such a dark twisted book. Oh wait, yes I can, it was With Visions of Red.
While it may be possible to understand this book without first reading With Visions of Red, I think any reader would be doing a huge disservice to themselves and the quality of the experience if you didn't.
Note to the author: Now that you have climbed out of your writing cave and cleaned yourself up, I'm gonna need you to crawl right back in, neglect your personal hygiene and give me the next installment. Both Quin and I are waiting!

A Dark Adult Suspense/Thriller Erotic Romance
Extremely well written. A fantastic suspense with plenty of mystery. The personalities and the plot keep you thoroughly engaged. You don't want to quit reading it. The complexities and layers in the story and the intrigue are so well executed, you feel like you are there. It's like reading in 3D!
I am really enjoying this series. There are 3 books in this one and they are not stand alone. To really get the full impact you need to start with the 'With Ties That Bind: Broken Bonds' serial first. It also has 3 books in it. They are all out of this world fantastic.
I can't wait to read 'With Ties that Bind: A Broken Bonds Novel, Book Two'.

What a wickedly twisted mind Ms. Wolfe must possess!
With Ties That Bind takes us back into the ACPD where Quinn and Avery are investigating a possible link between two victims. The link they find, however, opens up a can of worms neither of them wanted open. And then the unthinkable...is Avery in danger again?
I like the mix of police procedural and romantic suspense Ms. Wolfe weaves into this dark story. With Ties That Bind lacked the criminal profiling element of With Visions of Red, but I'm hoping to see some in the next installment. The reason behind these latest crimes was interesting as was is link to Avery. And I really appreciate how Ms. Wolfe tied the crimes together with events from With Visions of Red. I'm sure that'll only add to teh suspense over the course of this part of the series.
The budding relationship between Quinn and Avery is an element I look forward to watching continue in its development, especially since it goes against Quinn's code. The pull between them is palpable and intensified with all that's happened to Avery. Quinn is hesitant and Avery is as well, but for different reasons.
The ending left me frantically processing and questioning. Who is this sick person? Do we already know him? I can't get any of the puzzle pieces to fit together yet and I'm biting my nails in anxiety wanting the next set of pieces so I can begin laying out the puzzle to see if I can figure out the picture.
The Broken Bonds story continues here with Medical Examiner Avery Johnson and and Detective Ethan Quinn.
Avery is determined to get back to normal. Well as back to normal as one can get after being kidnapped and tortured. She's tired of being treated like a victim by everyone. Especially Quinn. There are some things however, that pretending can't fix. Angry and embarrassed, Avery takes matters into her own hands. A harmless, easy little fix; that's all it was supposed to be. But Avery's little fix has caught someone's attention. Someone very very bad. Someone who knows her secrets and is willing to do whatever it takes for her to recreate it for him, and make it better; dangerous.
Detective Quinn is a great cop. The good guy. The protector. Or at least he was. Everything was black and white. But that was before. Before Avery was kidnapped and tortured. Before he turned a blind eye and let the lines blur. Despite struggling with his own morality, Quinn is determined to do right by Avery and stay away, but that's proving more and more difficult. But what happens when his worst nightmare comes true. When Avery's taken again. What will he do to save her? There is no more black and white. There is no more pretending. Avery is his.
