Tiffen Circular Polarizer
Polarizers provide color and contrast enhancement. Reflected light often shows up as whitish glare that washes out color in an image. A Polarizer corrects this problem producing deep, dramatically blue skies. It also removes glare from non-metallic surfaces, such as windows and water. Color saturation in general, especially outdoors, can be improved significantly. Think of it as sunglasses for your camera.
A Circular Polarizer has the same effect as a Polarizer and is used on cameras with beam splitting metering systems commonly found on auto focus SLR's (for most 35mm auto-focus cameras see your camera manual).
Area of sky most effectively polarized with a Circular Polarizer: Point your index finger at the sun. With your thumb extended at a right angle (90°), rotate it around the axis of the index finger. It will point out the band of deepest blue from horizon to horizon.

The Circular Polarizer is the most popular special effect filter available. Polarizers can create deep blue skies, provide a general saturation to all colors, reduce glare, and minimize reflections. Screw-in Polarizers are featured with rotating mounts for precise control of polarization. The Circular Polarizer is designed for usage with both auto focus and non-auto focus cameras.

I was very pleased with the final images from this. Using Nikon 24-70 with a d800, no visible optical degrading at 100% compared to images with no polarizer from same lens. I have used this on paid architectural gigs, and client was very pleased as well.
As many reviewers have stated, the threads on this are TIGHT. Im guessing this is the "shortcut" where the price reflects. Its somewhat frustrating to put on the first several times, but once you get a feel for it, its not horrible. Tiffen should really look at this because it cant be that hard to do a little better job on the threads..
The advantage of installing a filter on any camera including a dash cam is it protects the lens from dust and maybe a stray finger print. The filter can be wiped with out worry of scratching the cam lens. Besides diminishing reflections in the video, a polarizing filter will define the clouds better and make the sky more blue rendering better contrast in the picture..
Quality looks good. It is easy to rotate after I have it screwed on to my camera lens. I scratched a line along the edge to mark the polarization. I gave it 4 stars because I bought another CPL (Goja) that is just as good for < 1/2 the price.
