If you have been away from TIG Welding and are rusty or are coming in from other methods like MIG, Stick, oxy acetylene this book could also be of benefit. The ideal reader has good aptitude, eye hand coordination, safety conscious, a positive outlook and a can do attitude.

This book is written from the perspective of someone who knows the frustrations of learning to TIG weld and how to overcome it.

If your mid to expert level at TIG welding then this book IS NOT FOR YOU. There are other books on advanced methods available from other authors.

If your pessimist, critic or looking for advanced level material please move on to another title.

Tons of spelling and grammar errors. More blank space and useless pictures in the book than information. You could easily learn more from a ten minute conversation with anyone that has welded ANYTHING. Do not buy if you have so much as glanced at at welder. 90% of this book is useless ramblings and product placement. If you have access to the internet and half a brain you can educate yourself much better in much less time. Even if you were born yesterday I could not recommend this book.

The horrible spelling, grammar, punctuation, verb tense, and random train-of-thought shifts make this book almost unreadable. Studying the process of TIG welding has shown me that many facets of the process are matters of opinion. However this book has what I believe to be inaccurate information.

Provides solid advice on the practical/basic aspects, especially regarding the construction of aircraft frames in AISI4130/EN19.
Somewhat too specific with US-centric equipment (there is a world beyond the Atlantic seaboard).
Some fundamentals that covers the "Why" in more depth, as well as GTAW-related references such as texts from JF Lancaster, DH Phillips, PT Houldcroft, AC Davies, Larry Jeffus, AWS, ESAB, Miller & Lincoln would have been welcome additions.
