If you grew up in an Asian family you already know Tiger Balm is the cure for what ails you. Sore muscle? Tummy ache? Motion sickness? Headache? Mama has some Tiger Balm for that. We're Taiwanese but an Indian friend of mine said her mom used Tiger Balm the same way...pretty cool.

I prefer the red over the white Tiger Balm as I find it a bit more powerful and I like the cinnamon-ish smell. It always offers quick relief when I have a headache or sore neck and I'm waiting for my Advil to kick in.

The 2nd main ingredient is menthol so for newcomers- it smells like Vicks vapor rub but twice (if not 3 times) as intense. This is meant to soak into the skin & relieve muscle pain. My knee pain was gone after 2 days of use as instructed. Thought I'd have to go to the doctor before. $5 versus an ER bill? As far as the Vicks comparison, me being honest- knowing the ingredients I used some of it under my nose to clear my congestion. I thought they were similar, (they are technically BUT the different intensity levels chemically are crazy), and someone mentioned to never put it near your eyes regardless where the pain is! It worked almost instantly. The main difference though? It being under my nose did almost water my eyes like I was cutting onions bc I put too much. Lol. Again ITS A MUSCLE RELIEVER meant to penetrate skin layers. Menthol x3! Watch it if you attempt to use it past knees & major bone/muscle areas. ALSO DONT DARE TOUCH YOUR EYES OR PERSONAL AREAS AFTER APPLYING. So use the restroom first for the men here! Lol. PS: A little goes a long way. Dont let the size fool you.

I have a jar of Tiger Balm that expired 5 years ago with more potency than this new jar. What happened to Tiger Balm? This weak facsimile of it's former glory is a joke! Tiger Balm has always been my go to for relief from muscle and joint pain. You're better off buying a tube of generic Icy Hot if you want to feel any pain relief. A sad day indeed.

Discovered initially when overseas. This balm is excellent for aches and pains. Best to use cotton or q-tip for applying; if use your fingers, wash your hands thoroughly or you will regret it when you absentmindely rub your eye!

If you want something scentless, this is not the correct product for you. This has a noticable camphor-wintergreen like odor.

I use for tennis elbow and minot arthirtis. When young, we used it on child's ankles when we woke in pain in the middle of the night from growing pains/cramps in feet and calf.

Glad to have a spare.
