As always, the characters are what make this book great. I obviously love Jack and Tess, and they seemed especially 'real' in this book. Yes, they get annoyed with each other hand have disagreements, but they work through them in productive ways and become a stronger couple. We do meet some new faces in this book: namely, Jack's childhood friend and movie star Ava Dumont. I loved the sibling-type relationship she had with Jack, and it was great to watch her and Tess develop a friendship as well. The mystery angle with Ava, Reese, and their entourages was fantastic! It was complex, interesting, and kept me guessing. And of course, I love a good happy ending! Daniel also played a really interesting role in this story, and I was pleased with the closure at the end.
This series really seems to get better with each new book. I love watching Tess and Jack explore married life. I cannot wait to read book 5!
I have to say that the second book was a little frustrating with all the relationship problems, but nothing to put me off, and I'm glad that they are now happy and we can focus on the mystery and the secondary characters, while we still see the progress of Tess' and Jack's relationship.
I also love the secondary characters in every book, they are so believable and well developed. What can I say? One of the best romantic mysteries. I would love to read more books from the author.
The principal characters are immensely likeable and the mysteries are as mysteries should be.
Recommend this series if you like your murder mysteries with the right mix of humour and romance.
Tess and Jack are a great team and I can't wait to read the next one!
