The story is written in the Now and Then from both POVs. I don't like the now and then chapters, it's confusing. Hard to stay focused. It's an erotic story told from Katia's perspective about the sexual encounters with Marcus. Katia is a shallow character who is obsessed with Marcus's looks and his appetite for sex.
Where did the strong-will-powered woman go? In the beginning she knew Marcus was not worth her time and now she's putty. Why is a man like Marcus put on a pedestal to begin with? He is a player who treats women like trash. Why would any woman be pleased to tame the trash man?
Weak pathetic Katia is only concerned with what Marcus can do to her body.
Women like Katia using sex as payment is why men like Marcus use women to begin with.
Using women to gain a business is not a rewarding feeling for a woman. Marcus does not deserve the love Katia gives him. Even when he starts to feel love for Katia he still does not deserve it.
It takes almost losing her and another woman claiming him to make Marcus realize what he has.
Funniest line in the whole story is when Marcus declares he is falling in love with his wife.
Did not care for the storyline and the writing centered on sex. Not much substance other than sex.
Seriously though, it has been a while since I have read a Bella Jewel book and I was immediately drawn in by the synopsis because really what about "I married a douchebag" doesn't scream READ ME! And I continued to be drawn in from the page one to the end. I might have slammed my kindle harder than necessary when I got to the end though - hence the "WHAT THE HELL."
This book starts with Katia, she married a douchebag but now she needs to tell us the story. What happened, why did she stay with him, where did he come from, what was she thinking? I promise all of of those things are answered. Katia is a strong lead character and she has this light about her. She cares for others and even when she is handed crap she finds the good in it. She decides to let loose for a night and never in her wildest dreams did she imagine one night would turn her world upside down. During this one night she meets Marcus.
OH Marcus...he has a contract to fill, a plan of attack and nothing is going to stop him. He is a complete a** but he wears the badge well. He is not ashamed of his actions. He doesn't show emotion but does things that only a thoughtful person would do. He doesn't care about anyone but still goes out of his way to help. There is no question why Katia is drawn to him, no doubt in your mind that she was utterly in love with him and he messed it all up. Their chemistry was intense and while Marcus is keeping his distance, the distance is in mind only. Because these two burn up the pages.
I loved that this book showed Marcus's POV as well as Katia's. It was full of mystery because you know early on what the secrets are but yet you still manage to be surprised by what happens. This was really a well written and engaging installment. I read this in one sitting because I just wanted to know more. And ten days is still TOO long to wait for more.

Good morning family, friends, and page watchers. Talk about an odd, erotic novel with the kind of sex most women would die for.Read more
