What has happened to Tilda!

Until recently, I was quite happy with this product, and had bought it on Amazon on a regular basis. The Penultimate packet of rice I received from Amazon was unclean, smelled somewhat outdated, but acceptable. I thought it to be a black sheep. But, the last pack I received a few days ago is highly disappointing. It is stinky, and when I cooked my first meal, it filled my kitchen with a foul smell. I was too hungry and attempted to have my meal with it, but it tasted sour, and unhealthy.
Tilda produces quality Basmati rice, no doubt. I don't know of any product available on the market which is as sophisticated as this product. Now, I am left with a well-nigh full package of Tilda which I must dumb, but I am more depressed with the fact that I cannot rely on this product anymore!

I like that this rice comes from the border of India and Pakistan. After much research, I have found that Basmati rice from this region has the lowest level of Arsenic. Wish it were organic, but at least I know the Arsenic levels for rice from this region of the world is the lowest. As far as taste, it's no better or worse than any other brand. Just average. NOTE: When buying Tilda brand rice, please read the package carefully as they sell rice that comes from various parts of the world. Not all of their rice comes from the Iindia/Pakistan region

Decent rice but unnecessarily troublesome to wash

We love cooking basmati rice in our Zojirushi so when this came up on prime day we grabbed a bag. Following proper rice cooking procedure we always wash our rice thoroughly. We're used to Dehraduni brand which comes clean after about three rinses, however, the Tilda rice takes easily nine or ten rinses before the water finally thinks about running clear. Once rinsed and cooked it's okay, but not quite as flavorful as the Dehraduni.

I was born in Japan, and I eat a lot of rice, both basmati and sticky rice.
The Tilda rice is truly superior, very floral and aromatic.
I can eat it plain - it's that good!

This is my favorite brand of basmati rice, and I’ve been looking for it for quite awhile. No other brand I tried matched the taste and ease of cooking correctly. And I tried a lot of brands! My first batch of Tilda basmati rice from this order was perfect. The only thing I did different was to follow the instructions from my original bag, which had you soak the rice, then rinse before cooking; which gave me the perfect rice I remembered. These instructions weren’t on this bag, so I decided to stick with what I knew worked for me. It came out so good, the rice was perfectly cooked. After all the basmati rice fails I’ve had with other brands, I’m glad to find my favorite brand again.

This rice, what do I say about this rice, where do I start?
The smell, the amazing smell of this rice while it's cooking, the smell will spread in the whole house and intoxicate you.
The large beautiful grain when it's cooked? You just don't know if you should be eating this rice or just take pictures and post it on Instagram?
I suggest find a Persian/Iranian friend and get some good saffron and mix this amazing basmati rice with some Iranian Saffron and treat yourself with some heavenly meal.
This rice goes with everything, wit stew, kabab,...!
To make the perfect rice:
-bring some water to a brisk boil over high heat. add oil and salt.
-Add the rice and continue cooking over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
-use a slotted spoon to scoop a grain. Break it in half, it shouldn't be too soft, not too hard. Turn off the heat and pour rice into the colander to drain.
-Place a saucepan back onto the stovetop over medium heat. Add some oil and 2 tablespoons water. Add saffron powder. Stir together.
-Add the drained rice and shape it into a pyramid. Cover the pot and cook for 5-7 minutes until rice begins to steam.
-Cover, Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 45 minutes. Turn off the heat and tilt the lid until ready to serve.

I ordered this twice. The first time, the rice bag had been opened and the box had been put back together and taped. The bag had been taped and stapled and I was concerned about how the rice had been handled (swept up off the floor, shoveled by hand, etc). Who knows. Amazon immediately refunded me and I disposed of the rice. I re ordered the rice. When I received the box I could hear loose rice in it again but the box itself was intact and I'm keeping/eating this batch. The bag had burst again not at the resealable part but at the top seam.
Seems insignificant but I thought it should be mentioned. The rice itself is great and also a good value.
