Paperback is a card game where players create words using individual letters. Gameplay is for 2-5 players and typically takes 45 minutes. To play, you score words in order to buy better letters with cool abilities. But scoring won’t win the game – you must finish novels to make it as a paperback writer!Game Contents

"I love word games and I love deck builders - now I can get both in one game! Paperback is a blast to play, and much easier to get into for my less geeky friends than many of the other fantasy-themed deck building games." -Jeff Cannata of the Totally Rad Show
"Paperback is a terrific game for just about anyone. Serious gamers can geek out on the clever use of deckbuilding mechanisms in a classic word game. Casual players can enjoy the easy gameplay and creativity they express in their word choices each turn. Families can delight in the well-disguised educational value and very obvious fun Paperback provides. Our family and friends have had a great time playing Paperback and I know you will, too." -Eric R. Burgess of Boardgame Babylon

- It is easy to learn.
- The word making component is much less stressful than Scrabble.
- There is some strategy in how to build your deck.
- It is fun with any number of players from 2 to 6.
- I can sometimes beat my wife at a word game. :-)
I really enjoy the deck building mechanic but haven't been overly enthused by most of the games in this group so far, mostly because theme tends to be weak in these games and the experience quickly starts feeling more mechanical than fun (for me). The deck building mechanic works exceptionally well with this word game, though. In fact, after playing through a game it feels like such a natural pairing it's amazing we haven't seen this before. The game is solid, and was obviously play tested thoroughly. Highly recommended if you like deck building or word games.
My family called it a mix of scrabble and wheel of fortune thanks to the starting cards RSTLN (no E).
This is a deck building game, which is a new concept for some new players, but they catch on quickly. Lots of little strategies that work or don't work. Overall a really fun game for people like me and my family.
