I received these boots recently and immediately wore them out. I was surprised at first by how tight they were across the front of the foot (despite reading people on here complaining about them being too narrow) and took my running shoes with me just in case. I only made it a few hours before having to change shoes that day but wore them again the next day with little problems. The fit was somewhat uncomfortable but not painful and I wore them most days with a few days of wearing my running shoes thrown in. Two days ago by the end of the day my right pinkie toe was rubbed raw (literally, it was almost bloody) so yesterday I wore my other shoes. Today my feet feel fine, its the best these boots have fit since I bought them.
Please keep in mind when you read the reviews about these being too tight or too narrow that they need to be snug to keep them on your feet and to keep your foot from sliding so far forward your toes are jammed against the front. Since most (or all) timberland work boots are width Wide at the narrowest it is a strange feeling but these shoes actually FIT a regular width foot. If you actually do have wide feet though stay away.
Also keep in mind that it's normal to have to break in shoes, especially leather ones. Your foot needs to harden up where it rubs the shoe and the leather needs to stretch and soften. Make sure to have already broken in shoes convenient the first few times you wear these all day.
I'm not sure if this helped them break in but the 3rd day I had them I put them out in the sun to get hot then rubbed in 2 or 3 coats of leather dressing. This helps treat the leather to keep it in good condition as well as waterproofing it, plus they look MUCH better then brand new. (I use Picard's leather dressing. From everything I've read it the ultimate product for long term leather care, though that usually means 20-50 years, not the lifespan of shoes. I happen to have quite a bit of it handy so I use it on shoes and boots occasionally.)

Annoy two days ago I noticed the leather of the show was separating from the store at the very toe of the left boot. That is completely unacceptable, especially for footwear that costs this much (even if they are imported).
Until now I loved these boots, they look great and we're perfectly comfortable but now I don't recommend anyone buy them and I'd give them 0 stars if possible. Also, I'm stuck with them as they're only returnable for a month.
Had to take off one star because of three small scuffs/scratches. Nothing that polish won't fix, but scuffed out of the box?? That's on the seller.
The other issue is on Timberland. The pull loop--which is functionally important on this style of shoe--is made for a child's hands; totally useless. I couldn't even get my pinky thru it.
