Decent boots, but they completely wore out after one year of occasional use (worn once or twice a week). The soles were worn flat, making them too slippery in any inclement weather. A side blew out on the right shoe as well. Comfortable for very short term use, but I'm used to boots lasting at least two years. Questionable quality.

The boots fit as expected, they did not require any break in period, and I expect them to last longer than most because they are pre-oiled. The only thing that I did not like was that the shoe laces were too long (33 inches), and too thin. The shoe laces do not stay tied, and flop down the side of the shoe. I purchased some shorter (24 inches) boot laces, and I expect them to resolve the problem.

I really love these boots. I was looking for a winter alternative for business casual other than oxfords in case I ever had to walk in weather and these fit the bill great.

Timberland never skimps on quality, and these are no different. The boots have a soft suede feel with think accurate stitching and a beefy tread. Foot bed is comfortable for hours of standing. The sides of the interior have no additional padding, but these fit my feet like a glove with no breaking in needed. I wore them for a full work day right out of the box with no problems with rubbing. The sizing feels dead on. If you have a wider foot or hammertoes, you may want to adjust the sizing because these are definitely low profile, especially in the toe area.

If I had to complain about something, it'd have to be the laces. They are real thin and can slip and loosen as you walk, so you have to be sure to double knot them and tug on them to make sure you're good to go. I might replace them with something that will stay put better, but that's minimal. For around 100 bucks, these are a great buy that I'm hoping will last me a few years.

this shoe is comfortable. It is attractive and stylish. HOWEVER, the first time my son tried the shoe on the tab on the back. My son will not wear ripped shoes so they are going back. Shame on TImberland for they low quality. THis was very dissapointing!!

I do have heavy-duty boots for deep snow and rough terrain, but I wanted a casual waterproof low boot that could be used for work and weekends without spending minutes lacing them. I was attracted to this boot because it is an oiled, leather, waterproof boot with the Timberland name, has only two lace grommets, and it was on sale. I liked the appearance when taking the boots out of the box - quality leather and a good looking shoe/boot. The first day of walking was uncomfortable because although the boot has a soft lining, the leather, while not overly thick, is sturdy and I found the tongue of the boot irritating on the front of my foot. They also seemed to be a little large. I next wore them in the house for an about an hour and then wore them outside today and walked a little less than two miles doing city errands. They are great. The fit is good, they are warm in cold weather, and they are now quite comfortable, although I haven't put them through the paces in rain or light snow yet.. Give them a few hours of wear at home before wearing them all day. Although they are intended for light duty, they are a substantial shoe.

Just got these and took them for a spin, so I have nothing to say about wear and tear; just first impressions. Let's start with the FIT: These are a LITTLE LARGE on me. I'm a 71/2 US men's, and ordered accordingly. These are just a bit larger, but not quite an 8. I have a feeling a 7 would be too small, so I've decided to add an insole and maybe another insert and get to fit. Which brings me to a key matter: There is NO INSOLE in here to start, and NO ARCH. It's OK, but be aware you may buy these and then find yourself spending another $20-40 on a support insole. Unlike all the other Timberlands I've owned, these are going to need SOME BREAKING IN; not a ton of it, but some. It's a simple, but GOOD-LOOKING shoe. Both fairly functional and fairly fashionable. The sole has EXCELLENT PURCHASE and the upper is WATERPROOF, so I'd feel totally comfortable wearing this as an outdoor work shoe. Looks great with both jeans and dress pants.
