Pros: They have a classic look (to me) if that makes any sense. Also, the perforce to take everything listed above. This out-weighs every Con listed just below:
Cons: They aren't water-proof. Of course they don't claim to be, but when I say they aren't water-proof I mean it. If you step into four, or so, inches of water, your foot will be wet for the rest of the day. Also, the sizing of this shoe was WAY too big. I wear size 12. After reading other reviews, I ordered size 11.5 and they were still quite a bit too big.
I'd still get them again, though. As an addendum, they age VERY nicely after months of serious use.
The dark brown boot is very dark, somewhat darker from the photos that are posted.
I would say you should buy a FULL size down from your normal shoe/sneaker size. I wear a 9 in Vans/Adidas sneakers and went with a 8 in the Burnished Brown and they fit great!
A shoelace did get messed up when trying to feed them through the loops but it’s not really a big problem. I really did not like the insole so I replaced them with some Dr.Scholl’s and they feel even better.
I really like them because you can put your pants in them for a nice style or put them over and use them like a dress shoe.
It is a shame, the last 3 pairs of boots I have had have been Timberlands, and they were used in a much harder environment, and all lasted until the tread was gone(2-3 years)
I did call the customer service, and they told me they would send me new boots, but that I get to have the pleasure of paying for the shipping. I know it will only be a few bucks, but the principal of me having to pay to correct their mistake tells me they dont want my continued long term business. I was told and I quote "that's just our policy," I also have to fill out a warranty claim online, they could not start a claim over the phone.
I'll pay the $10/$15 bucks shipping to have these replaced, and I'll never buy another pair of Timberlands again.
But y'all. Don't do what I did. Don't read all these reviews saying the sizing is almost a full size too big and think you are the magic one who will get your common shoe size and avoid all issues, lol. I ordered my normal size and yes, they were a size too big. I returned them and the same day shipping them back confirmed I got my money refunded and was able to order a new pair and get them in quickly.
