Fit - they fit exactly as my other size 12 safety toe work boots fit. Toe box is plenty big. My foot isn’t wide enough to be in a wide but just enough that a typical size shoe isn’t entirely comfortable at first. I’m old enough that my feet have overall stopped growing so the marginal room in the toes is adequate. Note, if you haven’t ever worn a safety toe boot/shoe, I could very well see how sizing these could be an issue.
Finish - Giving 4 stars (was going to give 3 only because of not having worn them yet) as these, out of the box, look very good. Both shoes were the exact same length. I will say the right shoe felt like the foot pad was built up a bit higher on the outside vs the left foot. I will be wearing them tonight and breaking them in.
I will be, after the 30 day guarantee is up, applying a waterproofing sealer to help with the ‘water resistance’. This is only the 2nd pair of work footwear in 18 years that hasn’t been waterproof from the mfg. I didn’t have the sealer for my last pair 10 years ago.
That’s it for my initial review. Will give another review in 6 months, maybe sooner.
I am now on my second pair of Timberland Pros. The first pair are over 2 years old (purchased May of 2013) and have developed noticeable wearing mainly in the heel and toe areas. Wear on the inside is better than expected. Also, I have not yet had to replace the shoe strings. Though I am now on my second pair, the first pair are by no means ready to throw away. They are still usable for yard work. The quality of construction is evident in the workmanship of the product.
I wear a size 10.5 wide. They fit as expected and are quite comfortable once broken in. Wearing these shoes all day means sweaty feet so I use the bamboo charcoal packets to absorb the odor and prevent bacteria from forming. I am very happy with the product and will of course purchase these again.
