Some reviewers seem to have been disappointed by the open end of the book, but I think this makes perfect sense as this is a book in a series, and I see no reason why all books in a series have to be entirely self-contained. I do look forward to the next instalment.
I wish the publisher would tighten up editing for grammar and proof reading for details.
Marc has not encountered a word that he did not have to expand upon. And the actions and motivations require more than 1 shot of Irish Whiskey to believe as plausible.
I bought #6 by accident so I will force myself to skim #5 to get the gist of how the skinny plot develops.
It was a great choice. His characters are heroes but flawed. The villains are formidable and the story has many side stories and back stories.
Jerico Quinn is just like all action heroes with strength and smarts and determination to fight the bad guys. But the writer also surrounds him with interesting supporting characters that have their own stories which makes it more relatable and not so one dimensional like many other action thrillers.
This story starts with some sinister plot that crisscross the United States and end in Japan with detail descriptions of life in some under culture areas that make for fun reading.
I couldn't put the book down and it's a long time since that last happened.
I'm happy to say I was right..."Time of Attack" is even better than his last book and that's really saying something.
Not as much of the big Cajun in this one but some of the other characters are getting some of the spotlight which is nice. My only gripe was it ended with some unfinished business and I hate having to wait for the next book in the series to get answers. (don't get me wrong...this isn't one of those that end like a batman episode i.e. half the story is here and the next half is coming soon but there are a few things that need resolving)
Definitely worth a read....
