John Vivanco's account of his experiences as a remote viewer is as engrossing as it is well written. John's voice shines through in the writing, and the vivid imagery he uses leaves you unwilling to put the book down.
A warning to readers of this book who may be new to remote viewing: this book will leave you with a strong desire to dive in and learn how to practice remote viewing. You will not only be left with a deeper appreciation for psychics, RVers and other spiritual-workers, but will finish this book with a deeper understanding of how remote viewing works. Though I feel compelled to note, this doesn't teach the reader how to remote-view but provides a great introduction to the philosophy behind it. I suggest following the author's website, [...] to look out for RV training opportunities near you if you are looking for a more in-depth guide on how to practice remote viewing.
John not only touches on his own life but brings to light intriguing information about our own government, spies, secret treasure, and other remote-viewing related events that may be happening right under your nose. A true must-read for anyone with even a passing interest in psychics or remote viewing.

From the Introduction of the book -
We move like ghosts through the ether, silent and undetectable, gathering information that can’t be gathered any other way. To Al Qaeda, we are of the Djinn; to the FBI, we are Psychic Spies.
When the Twin Towers fell, we were likely part of some Hail Mary plan the FBI had -- “break glass in case of major terrorist attack only”. They knew about us because we had run slightly afoul of them on a treasure hunting project, then again, every intelligence service knew of us. We were a successful Civilian Remote Viewing think tank developed just after it became declassified.
Post 9/11, the FBI brought us in to Remote View future terrorist attacks, and we were successful in helping to prevent another. The odd thing was, even though we were helping prevent terrorist attacks, there was a secretive covert group whose sole job was to shut us down. From setups, to death threats, we dodged as much as we could so we could keep working to bring this amazing ability to the world.
Being a Remote Viewer can also result in an exorbitant amount of High Strangeness. It opens the door to mind-bending projects which force you to see the world in a completely different light. One moment you’re working on predicting markets for a hedge fund, the next, you’re an inadvertent contact point to an alien species asking you for help.
I didn’t arrive at Remote Viewing with the belief I had any psychic ability at all. It was, in fact, the words of Mr. Causey ultimately driving me. As a child, he warned me to always remember the time before words – the moment before thought is created. This obsession sent me on a journey to explore my consciousness and to know the self, where it left me to live in a Zen Center, while running a team of Remote Viewers.

This is not a book that you can put down. This is not a book that will teach you how to Remote View. This is a book about a man that tried to do too many things at once and put off what he knew he was suppossed to do....find his true inner nature. From his description at the end on his Zen Meditation experience(s), I can say with some confindence that he did in fact find his true nature...that emptiness from which all form arises. I can't reccomend Remote Viewing as a way of life, as I beleive it is doing exactly what the Buddha instucted Chelas not to do...much around in the mind, which has never ending tesselations and adventures. But, if you find yourself first, then I can't see that it makes any difference what you do, as long as it's not Adharmic. Great book by a very bright and very interesting man. As a fellow Meditator and former Science major, I do reccomen it highly. It will lead you places the ego wants to go, and to a place, where it cannot go.

I left this book on my shelf for quite a time, but have finally finished reading it.
I have been fascinated by Remote Viewing ever since the Art Bell show of the '90s. I really enjoyed this book... John Vinaco doesn't try to explain RV very much; most of the book recounts his experiences being an RVer working on different projects. He is also a practitioner of Zen and relates it to the world of Remote Viewing.
If you're interested in Remote Viewing, you would benefit from and enjoy this story.

I thoroughly appreciated the candor and honesty of the experiences shared in this book. I imagine it took a tremendous amount of bravery in today's day and age to be so forthright in sharing uncommon experiences. I have been recommending this book to everyone interested in the so called paranormal (probably more normal than we realize). Thank you to John Vivanco for his enlightening and intriguing book.

I have been watching his series Chronicles of a psychic spy on edge of wonder.tv
I immediately got the impression that he was uniquely his own man and decided to check out his book as a result. The book bogs down a little bit here and there, but that’s probably me more than the writer. I think you will enjoy this book as I did.

The real-life stories of a professional remote viewer. Easy to read with a few twists that keep you engaged and turning the page to see what could possibly come next. When I put the book down I came away with an appreciation that our world is much more fascinating when one has no fear going into the unknown. Developing our consciousness is the key to unlocking the mysteries of life. Well done!

Excellent book on an early remote viewing company and a gripping personal journey

I've been waiting for John's book for years now, because I was a viewer in TransDimensional Systems. It is well-written, fascinating and hard to put down. Even if you weren't in TDS. It encompasses his personal journey into Zen, the realm of remote viewing, and more. The book includes discussions of major projects TDS undertook, such as anti-terror work after 9-11. It complements the only other book on TDS thus far, which is Pru Calabrese's Intentions - also well worth reading.

Good but don't expect detail
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 26, 2020Verified Purchase
It was a very good read. Interesting topic for sure and incredible stories but they were all very vague. He talks very briefly about how much he knows about huge esoteric mysteries and extraterrestrial life and ancient civilisations but then he just doesn't reveal anything. It's a memoir more than anything and it is a good read but not what I was expecting.
It also jumps around quite randomly.

If you have been an explorer of brainwaves, theta and delta states of awareness along with a host of other meditation practices this book is for you. If you think that there is more to this reality than can be seen this book is also for you. I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it. People like this author are the pioneers of what human awareness is capable of and like all pioneers they are the ones with the arrows in their backs. Great book!

I was surprised at just how amazing this book was. It’s really well written and thoroughly enjoyable. I’ve never done remote viewing before and knew very little about it prior to reading this but it expanded my worldview in a profound way. Loved it!
