Outstanding visual impact of world history, its flow, the ebbs and tides of peoples, nations and ideas. Most of us are visual learners; and, this fold-out 'histomap' in a class room will amaze and focus most, if not all, students. I'm an adult, it hangs in my office; and, it amazes me and and sends me wondering and learning each time I view it. This chart has long term impact on imaging history over time--visually comprehending history as magnified by its art-- a visual medium illustrating, 4000 years of the variations in succeeding civilizations as they made their mark in recorded history.

The histomap alone is worth every penny of the purchase price. Exhaustive, yet concise, the histomap is both a timeline and a measurement of the influence of every people-group from 2,000 BCE to 2,000 CE, giving the layman an at-a-glance survey of history and the interaction between cultures. The over-sized book is of the highest quality complete with narrative and full-color photographs and illustrations; a perfect complement and background for Sparks' one-of-a-kind histomap. A necessary tool for teachers, historians, theologians, and more.

This map is wonderful, showing the history of the World in a unique way with the timeline beginning at the top, then recording the happenings of the world as the centuries pass. I wish it could have been more specific on the exact dates of the events, as they are listed, its only a general time frame.

Very good chart for the house. This one mounts vertically and is laminated nicely. The book has some interesting facts in it. I posted it at work in my office and people that come in there view it regularly.

The Histomap in this book is AMAZING! I keep this on the table in my office and everyone wants to see the map when they stop by. It is a way to see how the World Power has changed throughout the years. The book is very informational too!

Very cool way to see world history. I got this for my son but found that I was looking at it just as much as him. It is a great way to see the relationship of world events in context with each other visually. The concurrent timelines in a graphical perspective give me a much better feel for things and can quickly complement and sync reading done in text. So many things are seen on the computer these days in a page by page manner and this is really something that is better appreciated in person on paper to appreciate scale and relation.

I love this idea and they've done a great job putting this together. I can't wait until my little ones are old enough to understand it.

I saw this in a classroom for the first time and had to have it.
It could still include a million more things, but it's visually powerful of how parts of the world were evolving through out the years.
