  • The first print issue should arrive in 4-6 weeks. Details

International Addresses: Magazine subscriptions offered at Amazon.com can only be shipped within the 50 United States, APO/FPO address and U.S. Protectorates. We are unable to process magazines to other destinations at this time. Please contact the magazine's publisher for further assistance.

When to Expect Your First Issue: Magazine subscriptions ordered at Amazon.com are shipped to you by the magazine's publisher. The first issue of a weekly magazine should arrive within 4-6 weeks of your order. The first issue of a monthly magazine should arrive within 6-10 weeks, unless otherwise noted.

Once you've placed an order at Amazon.com, it can take one to two weeks for your subscription to be received and scheduled by the publisher. Your subscription is then added to the publisher's next production cycle and shipped via standard mail. For example, if your monthly subscription was ordered and received by the publisher in November, and the December issue has already shipped, your order may be added to the January mailing. You can find out more information, including how to contact the publisher about your subscription, in Amazon's Magazine Subscription Manager.

Renewing Your Subscription: If you are ordering as a renewal to the same name and address as the current subscription, the publisher will add the Amazon order to your current subscription. For example, if you have 5 issues left and you add 12 through Amazon, you will now have 17 issues left on your subscription. Please note that the expiration date in the Magazine Subscription Manager will not reflect if you were already on file with the publisher. We will work with the publisher to ensure that you still receive all of the issues left on your subscription.

Publication Frequency: Magazines which show "irregular" availability are those which are not published according to a regular schedule. If you place an order for such a magazine, you will receive new issues as soon as they are available.

  • Control your subscription settings anytime using Amazon's Magazine Subscription Manager.
  • If you purchase the auto-renewing offer, your subscription will renew at the end of the current term. Before it renews, we will send you a reminder notice stating the term and rate then in effect. Cancel anytime.

3.0 out of 5 stars Reality TV took over! June 16, 2011
Subscription Term Name:1 year auto-renewal
I've been reading People Magazine since the early 80s, so I know I'm not in the demographic they're aiming at any more. It's turned into LOTS and LOTS of reality TV coverage of non-actors, along with very young new actors and musicians, with very limited coverage of established actors. It seems to me they cover a smaller range of people than they used to. I'm telling myself that I"m not going to renew my subscription, but I'm still reading every issue, just skipping the articles about people from shows I would never watch. Their reviews of books and movies are perhaps worth the price of the magazine, and aren't available on their website.

If you're interested in reality TV and very young actors and pop musicians, you'll love this mag.

5.0 out of 5 stars The People's pick. September 6, 2008
Subscription Term Name:1 year
Not only was the price the cheapest I was able find anywhere, the first copy of the magazine, which was supposed to start in six to eight weeks, came only four weeks from my order date. What a deal!

5.0 out of 5 stars Came in a timely manner December 26, 2008
By Lisa H.
Subscription Term Name:1 year|Verified Purchase
I ordered this subscription on 11/24/08 and the first issue arrived about two weeks ago, almost even before I expected it to. It has been arriving on the same day every week, so I am not left wondering when it will come. I was worried about ordering a subscribtion online, but it it went very smoothly! I would order other subscribtions in the future!

3.0 out of 5 stars Automatic renewal price is too high! November 24, 2014
Subscription Term Name:1 year auto-renewal
Let's face it...the magazine is entertaining and we all enjoy it. Here's MY beef. I just received my renewal email telling me the magazine has been renewed automatically at the price of $2.63 per issue. Unlike Good Housekeeping's automatic renewal system which informs me the magazine WILL BE renewed on such-and-such date and gives me a chance to cancel beforehand, PEOPLE tells you AFTER it has renewed you. It's annoying, but you can go to the customer service site and cancel if you want. But note the rate! $2.63 per issue and not at $2.29 per issue as advertised for someone purchasing a one-year subscription with automatic renewal now. So, you need to be aware that when you sign up for the one-year subscription with the automatic renewal, you WILL pay a higher price the second year and every year thereafter than other people purchasing the magazine one year at a time and canceling after the first year.

I buy this as a gift for a family member as a yearly gift...who in turn gives them to me when done reading:-)

That said, I finally got smart and stopped paying for a yearly subscription because frankly, there is no price incentive to do so...it's 2.19 an issue no matter what duration you choose..so why lay-out all that cash? I get a reminder to renew...I click the button...done for another 3 months...just saying...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Train Ride Candy February 8, 2011
Subscription Term Name:1 year auto-renewal

The train leaves the station at 5:40, and pulls up to my stop around 6:30. I can get through most of "People Magazine" by then. So can you.

Not difficult reading, and don't expect to learn anything important. "People Magazine" is not meant to teach you anything.

Kick back, pull out your monthly train pass, set down your bags and flip through a few pages. Learn about the latest goings on of the rich and famous. See the costumes of Hollywood, and the cars they all drive.

And when you are done, leave on the seat for the next guy. He's had a long day too.

I fully recommend "People," but only if you don't expect it to be "The New York Times."

Ordered for my daughter and find that I feel like I'm losing IQ points every time I read it. But the simple language, unchallenging ideas and chipper, never-mean tone is perfect for a budding reader / teenage girl/ senior citizen who likes celebrity news and doesn't need any more snark.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as it used to be....... August 6, 2016
By Jak
Subscription Term Name:6 month auto-renewal|Verified Purchase
Up until 3 years ago I subscribed to People. My subscription ran out, I wasnt reminded, so I just bought the magazine in a store checkout when the cover looked good. I am dissappointed with all the advertising and tons of photos yet not much in juicy storylines. I am contemplating ending my order.

1.0 out of 5 stars I don't like "People" magazine
I don't like "People" magazine, and I'm always ready to cancel it. Then they have a story that I'm glad I read. So many other better magazines--like "the Week."

People Magazine ever on sale?
If you have any airline miles you can get it for free from Magsformiles.com, it cost 1900 miles for 26 issues, but if you are like me you are never going to use your airline miles for anything else anyways.
