"I love Rodger and Leonora as a couple. They were so perfect together and the chemistry just sizzle between them. She was able to adjust to life in the future pretty quickly and it was like seeing everything new from her eyes. Everything we take for granted." - Victoria Zumbrum
From the Inside Flap
Air thundered through her lungs and not even a hurricane could propel her away from him. She yearned for the heat of his kiss, the feel of his skin against hers, but Rodger likely considered her too young. Several of her friends back home already married, their husbands were little more than strangers to some of them before they wed, but Leonora didn't expect a declaration of matrimony from Rodger. Despite her uncertain situation and future, she only wanted to experience pleasure in his arms.
The want embarrassed her, but she couldn't help the way she felt.
"I'm shocked you like your new clothes." His voice sounded as rough as a carriage that traveled on a gravel road. "None of the women in those magazines wore clothes like this."
"I noticed that, but the fashions in England aren't the same in France, Spain or anywhere else. Each country has its own style of dress. Isn't Bolivia the same?"
His throat bobbed. "Yes, very much so."
She braced her hands on his chest, his wool sweater cushy under her palms, and she traced one of the ribbed designs from his broad shoulder to his hard stomach. Strength coiled beneath the surface, his body thick and solid, and his chest heaved under her exploration. She slowly lifted the hem of his sweater but Rodger grasped her hand and pulled it back.
"Yes?" Leonora licked her dry lips and could barely breathe as he teased his fingers up and down her spine in a slow caress.
"I can't do this, Leonora."
"Because of my age?"
"No, because of mine."

Undercover American operative Rodger Ramsey goes to Salar de Uyuni before returning home to the states after two years posing as an Engineer for Gulf oil while working for the CIA. What a shock to see a beautiful young woman in period clothing in the middle of nowhere. Rodger will take Leonora back with him to his home in Bolivia but how can he believe her story of being from England. All the questioning, never can he catch her in a lie, but time travel of 238 years doesn’t seem real either. Is she a spy and caught on to who he is and who he works for?
The story is a sweet and mysterious love tale of two people, meeting in an unlikely place, and from different centuries. Leonora has had two expensive season in London, but she wants a love match like her grandparents. “For a happy marriage, my sweet Leonora, you must seek honesty and respect on both sides.” The concept of time travel places both Rodger and Leonora questioning each other and what century they are claiming. “How can time travel exist and scientists not know about it? A discovery of that magnitude would reap a fortune.” Did it take traveling over two hundred years in the future for Leonora and Rodger to find true love? “Fate granted her a second chance in this new place and time, but she wanted to console her family and let them know what happened to her.”
I received a fre copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Rodger Ramsey is an under cover secret agent, dedicated to his task, although open minded enough to feel for the people he is charged with watching.
Leonora Harris is a typical woman of her time, destined to obey her father and do her duty to family, regardless of the cost. When she runs for her life, "Hurry, I must hurry," gets lost, and is carried away into the future by a rolling vortex, can she be strong enough to accept her new fate?
This is a sweet, fairly clean, romantic, time travel adventure.
The writing is very good, and we learn enough about the characters to want the best for them.
Like Rodger's apartment, it is clean and to the point, with not a lot of unnecessary clutter.
Yet, author Amber Daulton keeps us in an agitated state, worried about the characters secrets and safety.
Discovering a wandering Leonora is a distraction and responsibility Rodger never could have dreamed of. Jumping over two hundred years into the future and landing in a country she had never even heard of definitely threw Leonora for a loop. How do you convince someone you're not crazy? Who can you rely on? A serious dilemma for both.
Even the author's descriptions of the seedier side of life in Bolivia kept me on edge.
If you enjoy time travel or historical romance, or even a good spy novel, you will like this read.
