WHY THE HELL A~R~E most of MY favorite shows cancelled?
Excellent show! HOPEFULLY, this NBC/Sony series which-------so far-------has [only] been renewedfor a ten-episode SECOND season will continue via another network. SONY is in favor of renewingit. As a matter of fact, this FIRST SEASON is on 4 DVDs with spectacular audio/video with your op-tion of ENGLISH or JAPANESE soundtracks.BONUS TRIVIA:The series has appearances of [key] FAMILIAR FACES from a few series, such as SUPERNATURAL.Seriously, TWO stars from THAT series are in a few episodes. Which ones? One of the guys in the at-tached picture is in one episode. Their, older, hunting-mentor is another couple... minus a dirty ballcap.____________________________________________________________________________________Supernatural began its 13th season. Even STAR TREK got THREE seasons... and look what happenedto THAT "cancelled show"!

Good condition and love this series!

I really came to love this show when it was on TV. My wife enjoyed watching the DVDs and was very disappointed to get to the last one. We are both very happy that they decided to renew this show for another season. This is a story of a history professor who is recruited to go back in time with a team to catch someone who has stolen another time machine and appears to be attempting to change history. Each episode goes back to some interesting point in western history and you get to meet famous characters. The heroes never quite catch the bad guy although in some cases, they manage to foil his plots. Over the course of the series, it becomes clear that there is a sinister organization behind a lot of things in history and the organization is the target of the bad guy. Along the way there are a lot of twists and turns and plot developments that you don't see coming. These always keep you guessing and interested. The characters are very likable and you want to see them stay together. Overall this is sort of a quirky show with an outlandish premise that somehow works really well. You won't be disappointed in most cases.

Really glad I took a chance and ordered this DVD set from Amazon. I had enjoyed similar TV series like Quantum Leap and Sliders, so decided to give this one a try and did not regret it as it's now one of my favorite new shows and I look forward to getting season 2 when it's available.

Don't worry about the many minor historical, scientific, and tactical mistakes and just have a good time watching it. There's lot of humor in the team's interaction with various historical characters during their missions and the false names they use to conceal their true identities are quite funny. The sinister organization which seems to be secretly controlling the good guys and gals behind the scenes, and the target of the villain(s) seeking revenge on it, adds to the intrigue and suspense. With an endless number of important past events which could be diabolically altered to change American and world history, the intrepid team of Lucy, Wyatt, and Rufus will need numerous TV seasons to resolve it, and let's hope there will be many more future episodes to come.

I am glad that "Timeless" was given a second season because (and it looks like they will) they can use it to close up some of the loose ends. I was first intrigued by this show because of the "What if..." factor...what if you could go back and stop (insert historical event here)? How would it affect the world today? And why would you do it? These are questions not only the protagonists have to answer but also the antagonists.

Beyond those questions, the show is well done and factually accurate in its depiction of the past. Especially good was the episode regarding the Apollo 11 mission that gave credit to Katherine Johnson, the black woman whose mathematical skills and scientific abilities were able to make the Apollo program a success. There are other fantastic episodes, but I don't want to give up too much. If you like alternative history (and yes...some things get changed), then "Timeless" is worth a look.

"Timeless" didn't last long on American television despite the fact it was based on a great concept and had some very interesting (if not wholly accurate) scripts centered on American history.
The central theme of the series is a simple one: A former government agent's family is murdered by a mysterious group of powerful men and women who have long used their wealth, influence, and even assassination to shape American policies. He vows revenge and sets out to destroy that group in a unique way - by traveling back in time to thwart their past actions. Opposing him are three unlikely comrades: An historian (Lucy Preston played by Abigail Spencer), a soldier (Wyatt Logan played by Matt Lanter) and a computer genius (Rufus Carlin, played by Matthew Barrett.) Their goal; preserve American history and capture - or kill - revenge-seeking Garcia Flynn (played by Goren Visinjic.)
The series features episodes ranging from the French-and-Indian War to Bonnie and Clyde's last days; from the "Red Scare" of the 1950s to Paris in the 1920s. The plots are inventive and - a plus - they ask viewers to consider some fairly important moral, ethical, and philosophical issues. For example: Should the assassination of Abraham Lincoln have been prevented?
(In retrospect, asking American television viewers to consider issues like that might have been a bridge too far. American viewers, after all, tuned in by the millions to watch shows like "Duck Dynasty" and "The Apprentice." Asking them to think about what they were watching was a bold step but, ultimately, might have doomed this show from the start.)
There is a problem with the scripts that revolves around the development of the characters, especially Logan. The writers created the character as a Master Sergeant in the military's elite Delta Force. The problem: He is too young to have risen to that rank, far too emotional, cannot seem to stay on mission, and - owing to the fact that his wife was murdered and the killer never caught - lacks the impulse control that is a common trait among special operations troops. I don't mean to suggest that special forces operators lack emotion: That would be foolish. However, having known many and having served, myself, as an adviser to a Vietnamese infantry regiment I can say with a fair degree of certainty that Wyatt Logan would not have been chosen for the Delta Force, would not have risen to the rank he has in the show, and certainly - given his flawed character traits and his personal history - would not have been chosen for this highly sensitive mission.
There are some other - far less significant - character issues with the Lucy Preston and Rufus Carlin characters but it is the Wyatt Logan character that is the most troubling for me and, I'd wager, for anyone else that served in the military.
That said, I enjoyed this first season because it was based upon a great idea, painted the "villain" as someone who had a justifiable reason for doing what he did, had some interesting secondary characters and subplots, ended the year with a wonderful plot twist, and asked the audience to think about big, important issues.
I just wish the writers had spent a little time figuring out the Wyatt Logan character to make him believable.

This little gem of a show deserves second season if ever there was a show that did. It tells the story of a person on a mission to eliminate the shadow organization that killed his family. He steals a Time machine and goes back and forth in Time trying to make this happen. However, when he does, small changes take place. The good guys use the backup to chase him all through history as they try to stop him. The first season ending was perfectly set up to lead into the 2nd season, but it looks like NBC does not have the guts to do so. (A little of my opinion showing?) None the less, this offering offers you a chance to see how it turns out. My pet gripe is that the show was filmed in HD and the release is only on DVD ! Why did SONY have to take an extra step before releasing this show?

If you enjoy TV shows about time travel, history and lots of adventure, you're going to love this series. It's sort of reminiscent of shows like Doctor Who and Voyagers from the early '80s... anyone remember that? This is such incredible series and it's a bit tragic that it didn't get more seasons.

Highly recommended!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Grandiose Serie für Zeitreisende!
Reviewed in Germany on March 15, 2019
Hallo Zeitreisende!

5 Sterne ???

LG an alle Zeitreisende ...

Just imagine you are working for someone who has built a time machine. What would you do with it, where would you go, who would you see. Timeless explores those possibilities and more. If you love science fiction and time travel stories than this is the show for you. There are in jokes within the show making reference to Back To The Future and other time travel series.
