Open plot threads and dangling cliff hangers left over from the first season are built upon in the sophomore season of this clever and entertaining time travel program. Of course, new complications and villains are introduced along the way and the welcome opportunity arises to develop the supporting characters to a far greater degree than in the first year.

A bit of a vanilla DVD release sporting some deleted scenes and an amusing gag reel, but the image quality, sound and overall presentation are top flight for a standard definition release. Both seasons would benefit from a Blu-Ray re-release to showcase the exceptionally attractive production design and attention to historical detail that has been a hallmark of this series and an opportunity for commentary from the cast and crew. Perhaps after the series conclusion an HD box set of the whole series might be in order? Certainly the highly vocal fan base would snap up such an offer...

I first learned of Timeless in the form of a banner at San Diego Comic Con. I tracked it down and recorded the entire first season. It was a great concept, good special effects and great character development. The season finale was a powerful cliff hanger. Then they announced it was cancelled. It was on a Friday. Thank goodness come Monday they had changed their minds. Unfortunately, it took a while to pull everything back together. It was a good season with lots of twists and surprises; but it was only a handful of episodes. And, again, there was a major cliff-hanger. I am now waiting for Season Three. I only hope if it's not picked up for Season Four they will give us closure at the end of the promised season.

Though their adventures generally didn't seem to have much effect on the timeline no matter who got killed or diverted this was one very entertaining series. Not bad plot lines, lots of adventure, wonderfully detailed sets…too bad it's over except for the movie. Better than most TV scifi Timeless even appeared to actually be based on real people and events, they made a real effort on research.
I didn't like the way the Rittenhouse theme was handled this season (the leader of Rittenhouse, Lucy's great great grandfather?)…that would definitely change history! Didn't help that Lucy's mother and the guy were just so casually cast aside in the finale. Inventive way for Wyatt to get his wife back ( but also more of that altering history without real effect). Wyatt also never seemed to find a razor.
I'll watch the movie when it comes out although I don't see how the writers can get enough detail into a 2 hour movie (and I'll buy that too).
Good series, worth watching, I'll miss it.

It's sort of reminiscent of shows like Doctor Who and Voyagers from the early '80s... anyone remember that? This is such incredible series and it's a bit tragic that it didn't get more seasons.

Great series, great Sci fi, great research on history events, so covers those who are not always sci fi fans. And unlike an earlier review who states it is a region 1 and will not work on DVD models in Au, please use your heads- Panasonic for one can be unlocked to use on all regions- it was originally for all regions anyway. Kogan also works all regions as does a lot of brands… so check what you have as you may already have a multi regional machine. Most if not all unknown or checker brands do play multi regional DVD’s, but may not play multi regional Bluray. Panasonic however does play both in multi regional, but you do need to get the newer purchased ones unlocked, which is free…. Older models did not require the unlocking as they came that way.
But fantastic series that did nicely put out a movie length ending to finish it off, when the series was cancelled after session 2. Pretty much what happens when they make a really good series, some beancounter decisions goes to cancel them…. Especially when they are SciFi!
