So to say that Dalia has a bad couple of days is an understatement. She not only gets followed, called nasty names but also loses her job. She also finds out what’s going on with the band member and start to have real conversations with him. This gets her invited to Nick’s place, the lead singer with a bad attitude and the one to response very nasty to her social comment.
The initial meeting is awful but Dalia somehow ends up with a summer much to Nick’s complaints. Those two are a like oil and water and both a damaged in different ways. But Dalia’s sister loves the band and lives vicariously through her.
As time goes on, so does the tension between the two but sexual frustrations also starts to creep in. They both feel it and try to ignore it but as things turn out, they fall for each other. There are some major bumps along the way and Dalia bolts back to her real life.
While she has a good relationship with everyone else around the band, things go way off the track with Nick. It takes a lot of soul searching on both sides and they finally figure it out and make it out the other side.
Such a great read and I love Julia’s work
Right off the bat, I need to say how much I LOVE Julia Wolf’s writing style. She writes things exactly how real-life people would say them. It made the story super easy to get lost in. On top of that, who doesn’t love an enemies-to-lovers romance? I was hooked. Had I not started this book during a trip I took, I would’ve read it in one sitting.
The chemistry between ALL the characters, not just Nick and Dalia, was real. They all shared a connection that I could tell they were more than just bandmates. They were a family and when someone messed with one of them, they messed with all of them. Which is how Dalia got herself in the situation that led to Nick absolutely hating her…until he got to really know her, that is.
I honestly loved how Nick wasn’t your typical rock god. Yes, he was HOT and very much swoon-worthy, but he was also such a kind soul and overall good guy. He was honest about things, down to earth, and just…very swoony!
Dalia was also a great character. I liked how she wasn’t whiny, but instead, she knew what she wanted and who she was (if that makes sense). And her dog, OMG!! Mingo was the best LOL!!
All in all, I loved this book. Truly, I did. Great storyline that developed at a perfect pace, fantastic characters, and fabulous writing! It was my first read by Julia Wolf and believe me when I say, I am a FAN.
Five stars and a must-read!!
She has a personality that wins people over. She also knows how to be a smarta$$ and push buttons. Despite that, they are madly attracted to each other. So...there's humor, steam, angst, and I stayed interested throughout...HEA. I'll read more by Julia Wolf.
