Times like These: A Rock Star Romance
Audible Audiobook
– Unabridged
You're not being very nice right now.
I think you like it when I'm not nice.
Nick Fletcher has the voice of a god and a tongue as sharp as a knife. His words can cut, and this time, his quick temper has earned him an intruder in his life and on his tour.
Dalia Brenner looks like a grown-up Annie gone bad, but he wants nothing to do with her pin-up-worthy curves and smart mouth. His method of dealing is to keep his head down, get through the tour, and then he'll never have to see her again.
Dalia has no intention of having heart-to-hearts with Nick. They share a bus and sleep three feet apart every night, but that doesn't mean she can't ignore the scowly, grumpy lead singer.
But she can't seem to deny the annoying instinct to fix the pain and grief behind Nick's sea-glass eyes, even though she definitely knows better.
And Nick, well, he's getting tired of denying Dalia...period.
Dalia has plans though, and none of them involve being a rock star's girlfriend. Too bad Nick couldn't disagree more.

When Dalia accompanies her sister to a Blue is the Color concert, and two songs in, it gets canceled because the bass player passed out and fell off the stage, she goes on Twitter and puts them on blast with a video she took of his fall. When Nick sees the tweet, he strikes back by calling Dalia an incredibly nasty name. The tweets go viral, and the resulting media attention causes her to lose her job. To make it up to her, Nick’s manager offers Dalia a summer job, and she finds herself on tour with the band, much to Nick’s irritation.
What will happen when Nick and Dalia are forced to share the close quarters of a tour bus? Read the book to find out.
I loved Dalia and Nick’s story! I read it a month ago, when life was feeling like a reeking dumpster fire, and I needed a vacation. Times Like These was the perfect escape. It captured my interest from the start, and I couldn’t put it down. Dalia and Nick were both realistically flawed yet likable characters with witty banter and great chemistry. The story had an engaging mix of romance, humor, and a touch of angst. Several of Julia Wolf’s books have been sitting on my TBR for ages, and I’m so happy that I finally got around to reading one. It won’t be the last.
The writing and storytelling overall were good. I found myself swooning over Nick a few times. At the end of the day though, a rockstar romance has a certain appeal to it because of the insinuation of a bad boy with lots of options but he chooses her. There was a lot of telling us Nick was a bad boy and a jerk but all he did was drink tea and mother hen everyone and then get grumpy because he doesn’t want to listen.
There are several mistakes when it comes to grammar, spelling, and continuity(particularly pertaining to the characters personalities early on and in later chapters) as well that made it harder, but not impossible, to stay in the story.
Overall if you’re looking for a fluff read, this one isn’t bad, and I wouldn’t tell you to run far away.
Dalia Brenner and her sister are best friends as well as being the closest of siblings. They look alike, think alike but one thing they don't necessarily agree on is their taste in music. Mellie's dragging Dalia to see her most favorite band, she's even made tee shirts for the concert. Blue is the Color, the band in question, has not impressed Dalia but she'll go anyway for her bff sister.
Let's just say the concert turns out to be a disappointing mess, a bad social media post is involved and goes viral in the worst way possible and Daria might have had a little to do with that. An online battle with the lead singer of Blue has made her life miserable now.
All of that somehow leads to a job offer that Dalia reluctantly takes... any girl would kill for it so why so reluctant...maybe because the most aggravating, rude and opinionated man ever is going to be there as she takes her place for the summer as the new PA for a touring band she doesn't even like when she's fired from her own job because of 'you know who'!
This is the start to a wild ride on a cross country tour for the band and Dalia. She's hit it off with a few of the guys with the exception of HIM..Nick, man in question. They bicker and fight all the time but you know what they say about love and hate? Fine line between.
I'm so glad I decided to hop on this crazy train with Dalia, Nick and the members of Blue. Swerve, is a summer festival tour with tons of other bands so there were lots of fun, secondary characters to get to know. The book had a cool vibe, lots of great moments and I thoroughly enjoyed the easy style of this new author in my world. Dalia and Nick had some serious chemistry even if the fireworks were too hot to handle! Question is-will they survive this tour with their hearts intact?
I definitely need to see if there are more gems where this came from, because I'm sure gonna be on board if there are. This was a good story and captivated me on a day when nothing else seemed to do so.

Nick and Dalia are perfect characters in an imperfect world. I love that Dalia's character never wavered in her "not liking" the band itself but loved the way Nick's voice comes out. Nick showing that you can be vulnerable, even if it was albeit late, and still have the respect of people around you. There are so many small things that make the book absolutely adorable, so easy to read and fall in love with.
Now to decide on whether I should go for David or Jasper first
