In particular I choose this style because it displays the time, day of week & date at a glance. I first bought this style when I had young children and found the chronograph and timer features useful to record duration of tasks while homeschooling, playing, cooking, doing chores, or exercising with them. Later on I found it useful for keeping track of medication.
The small face is nice for my active lifestyle when a large watch would be in the way, but now that my eyes aren't as good is more difficult to read and impossible to read the tiny letters on the function buttons without reading glasses. I know the watch will keep accurate time, battery lasts a year, and the face a few years before wearing on edges.
I choose the Velcro band now because it lasts longer than any other bands and I no longer need to remove it during wet or dirty tasks because I can wash the entire water resistant watch and band whenever dirty from gardening, outside games, cooking, or animal chores like timing myself while milking a goat. It dries overnight on my bathroom counter.
The Velcro style band works great for me because it is fully adjustable for comfort and causes less perspiration on warm days or when working out. No metal touches my wrist because of this band and though Timex backs are stainless steel I still don't want metal touching me. When wearing clothing that snags I just rotate the band to keep the Velcro part away from me to no longer catch my clothing. It would be even better if redesigned so that the watchband end stayed more readily on the band. Anytime I'm waiting for something I find myself picking off the bits of fuzz attached to the Velcro hooks.
I love this watch and hope Timex makes another with a larger face for women; otherwise, my next watch will have to be a men's if I want to read it without reading glasses.
On the positive side, one of the reasons that I chose this is that the fabric of the band runs behind the watch face. If you have metal allergies or just don't like the clammy feeling of a metal disk against your skin all day, this is a nice feature and hard to find.
I mistakenly purchased a replacement that was larger, and actually really liked the louder alarm, but was not comfortable wearing the larger size. So, it traveled with me as an alarm clock. Unfortunately it was stolen by a hotel housekeeper recently, so I purchased the smaller size again.
