- 40mm wide or less for the case and low profile
- analog display
- doesn’t look ugly
- water resistant to 100M so I can swim with it
- cheap enough I won’t care if a lose it or break it.
This was basically the only watch that met all of that criteria. The most difficult thing was to find a 40mm or less analog watch for cheap that could go to 100M eliminated almost every watch except this one. This is a big deal because anything less means you really shouldn’t take it swimming or in the shower. I will say, for a dirt cheap watch, it looks pretty good – something I couldn’t say about other analog sport watches in this price range. It looks better in person than in the photo.
Here’s what I like: It looks decently good. You could wear it as an everyday watch and not get funny looks unless you are the type to wear a suit to work. It’s lightweight so doing sports or swimming with it is easy as it doesn’t throw off balance at all, nor does it flop around on your wrist from the weight. The nylon strap was something I was initially concerned about because these kinds of straps wear out FAST. But this one is actually half leather (on the back) and half nylon (on the outside; the visible part). Over the past month and a half it has held up VERY well so I don’t really have any concerns about this wearing out any faster than any other band. The leather backing also makes it more comfortable than a regular nylon watch. The dial is extremely high contrast and VERY easy to read at a quick glance. The hands do not glow in the dark, but even better, it has indiglo if you push in the crown so the whole face lights up blue in the dark. The back of the case uses four tiny screws, so no need to take it into a store to have the battery replaced.
Here’s what I don’t like: The glass is actually acrylic so over time it WILL scratch just like the glass on any digital watch. That said, this watch was $25 so can I REALLY complain about that? Not really. And the acrylic does help make the watch very light weight which is something I like. The other thing is that it’s a pretty loud watch “tick tock tick tock!” This is due to the acrylic glass and plastic body. If you keep it on a nightstand right next to your head, you’ll hear it all night long. I keep it in an open drawer of my nightstand and I generally don’t hear it. But just be forewarned, it will probably be the loudest watch you ever buy.
Overall, I’m EXTREMELY happy with this purchase. If I lose this thing, I will buy another without a doubt.
This watch band is perfect! He is able to put it on and adjust the strap himself. It's comfortable, and he can put it on, and take it off as he wishes. The watch face has large numbers, so it's easy for him to see. I would highly recommend this watch.
I wanted a basic cheap, durable analog watch. I bought the first one 7 1/4 years ago and it just gave out. So I just bought another one. Over 7 years later, the price is a buck or so cheaper.
The only drawback is that it isn't a great timekeeper. Mine did vary a minute or so per month. Since I just used it for a rough idea of the time, that doesn't matter, I just reset it against my phone or computer as needed.
How apt that the picture shows a stopped second hand. Just like my new watch that doesn't work. After buying a replacement watch, the old watch started working again. So I kept wearing it. When I checked on the new watch after a couple of months it was dead, and dead it remains. May be a defective battery since the backlight on the dial doesnt work either. The first one is still ticking after 7.5 years, the new one established muerta

The strap is quite nice looking, although I would have preferred it not to have writing on it. Apart from that the real let down is that the strap is only suitable for people with smaller wrists. It would be so much better if manufacturers cottoned on to the fact that many of us are larger and catered better for us. I have had to buy a longer strap, which is much better, although had some difficulty owing to the shape of the area where the strap fits in. I had to file a fairly pronounced edge to allow the strap to fit. As well as the other aspects I have commented on, consideration of this on the part of Timex would be most helpful, as many would be a bit wary of modifying the watch case to allow for this.
I hope that Timex might see this review and act accordingly to be more helpful on all of these aspects. That is, especially as Timex is a well established firm with a very good track record against more anonymous manufacturers, whose products may not be so durable and long lasting, even if they too can often only cater for smaller people, as in this case.
It works, it's easy to adjust to the correct time and date, the Indiglo works fine. The strap is plenty long enough for my seven and a half inch wrist. I admit that being velcro it might not last for ever and I'll fit a different one on it if need be (it's 20mm between the lugs).
It's light and easy to tell the time by - both in daylight and in the dark.
Unfortunately, I was due to travel the day after it arrived and needed a watch to come away with or I would have returned it.
the indeglo button when pressed in got stuck in, after speaking to a few people it was figured the washer they use to keep it water proof was getting stuck, so I had to turn the pin in order to get it unstuck.
It keeps perfect time and the date changes just after midnight and only takes 15min to do so.
the indiglo is bright really really bright!! Which is perfect as I work in a dark environment, there is no confusion on the time at night it's very clear.
I only rate this 3 star due to the imperfections.
If it had a better strap and there was some information about the button getting stuck for the first week then would have a night rating
