The look of the watch is very eye catchy; it's almost 2" in diameter and almost 1/2" in thickness. The dark brown leather band is nice but a wide, thick black rubber band would have been better. The weight of the watch is substanscial to say the least; this is defiantly a watch with substance. Viewing of the dial, now this is the draw back to the watch as a whole. With a light cream dial & very light colored hands of silver and gold with very small black numbers it can be a strain on the eyes to see what time it is or even to get a read on the altimeter. You will take more time looking to see what the time is for sure & even more on the altimeter readings. Make a note that this watch does NOT have a light to illumine the dial when you're in the dark so if this is important to you then this is NOT the watch to buy, you will be disappointed. The paint on the face, numbers and hands DO NOT adsorb enough light to see what time it is when you're in darkness. The function of the watch is what you have come to expect from a Timex, excellent time keeper and pretty damn accurate on the altimeter. Also the altimeter is very easy to calibrate. Make a note that this watch is ONLY a time piece with the day by number during the month and an altimeter and that's it. NO alarm, No light no other functions other than time piece and altimeter. Overall it's a heavy beefy time piece that looks great, keeps good time and the altimeter is pretty good to.

Yes, it is a big, heavy watch. But that's the style these days. I'm 6' tall, 183 pounds, and it suits me fine. The size makes a bold statement on your wrist. It is a way you can have a fashionable watch that actually does something instead of just being big and blingy. It has a nice technical look to it that is nicely offset by the satin-finished stainless steel case and the chocolate-brown leather strap.

I measured the case width at 53 mm and I included the crown in that measurement. The Amazon details and even the Timex website say that it is 50 mm, but I don't think that's quite right. A measurement of 50 mm would be correct only if you didn't include the crown. From what I can tell the crown is generally included in the "case width" or "case diameter" measurement for watches.

I've only had the thing for less than an hour so I can't tell you how well the altimeter remains calibrated. But I read the instructions and set it up fairly easily.

An interesting note about the altimeter. It doesn't remain "on" full-time. You press a button to activate it, and it shows the altitude until you press the button again, or until 60 minutes elapse. So you can't just glance at the watch to see your altitude at any time: you have to press a button first. Not a big deal, but I found it curious. Maybe energy is reuquired in order to show the altitude, and so it is a way of saving battery power??? And actually, even if the altitude is showing, you can't just "glance" at the watch and read the altitude. The markings are small enough that must look carefully. But I doubt that anyone is going to be buying this thing for skydiving, right?!?

I love the orange details on the face/hands/case.

This watch is BIG! stylish, seems accurate, and gets lots of compliments. The band is holding up well, and the altimiter is always within a couple hundred feet at most. ONLY grip is that the altimeter hand makes it a little tough to read the time at a glance, but a minor annoyance

I just received this Timex Expedition E-Altimeter watch today. Put it on, and fell in love with it. I've owned a lot of Timex watches in my day and this one looks like it will be the coolest. True, it has no numbers on the face, it's not that tough looking at the hands to figure out the time. Once more, a great watch. Thanks Timex.

Gave it to my husband for Christmas, but had to return it. The face was too big, and the instruments too small to read.

Heb deze horloge via Amazon gekocht. De bestelling verloopt soepel en was binnen twee binnen.
Kortom prijs kwaliteit in goede verhouding, althans goedkoper dan in Nederland.

Tot nu geen spijt
