Set against the backdrop of friends turned foes grandparents who ambitiously came to Mumbai to fulfill their dreams of making a name for themselves.
Ramani Iyer and Bhaskar Hegde come together and open a restaurant. Both amazing cooks with their respective Tamil and Karnataka style cooking which is their forte. The partnership works for them as the hotel becomes a success and most sought-after place.
Orthodox Bhaskar and modern Ramani are like Ying and yang. Hell, breaks loose when Janani and Kartik fall in love. Kartik's parents Bhaskar and Akshata oppose vehemently and the alliance doesn't work. They remain unmarried.
Cut to present when Madras and Mysore have made a name for themselves. Bhaskar still controls the business in spite of both sons helping him out. He keeps a tight leash over the business and finances. Advik his grandson is expected to run the show but wishing to learn and explore other cuisines create a rift between grandfather and grandson. Ramani on other hand is liberal and allows kids to make their own choices.
How will the elders react when history repeats itself? Read the book to find out.
Loved the way the simple story is narrated. A feel-good story that even engages relatives and their roles in our lives. Brings back the forgotten era like where we had our Chitappas and Athais as friends.
Older generation, friends turned enemies and how it took them a whole generation to again reconnect.
A love situation both with same circumstances but how it was handled differently.
The book has three stories going simultaneously and you will love all three to the core.
Do read it guys 😌
Of course the heroine Aaradhya is bold and beautiful n Advik is very nice!
