If you are going to eat this pasta naked you will see, feel and taste a difference from wheat pasta. But who does that anyway? It's the sauce that makes the pasta, and this brand of rice pasta is terrific. Unable to eat wheat, I brought this pasta with me on a visit to my sister's house, and her husband Paulie "the Goombah" refused to eat it. At least, he thought he did. He ate it, just didn't know it. But here is one warning about this product: if you are going to have it in a macaroni salad or similar, you should plan for hardly any leftovers. It does not keep well in the fridge, becoming hardish and crunchy-ish and unappetizing. I don't think it is the cold that makes it that way, because I store leftovers with marinara in the cold and it does not react the same way. Maybe it is the salt in the salad dressing, or some other ingredient that reacts badly with the pasta. But other than that this is a Godsend to folks who can't have regular pasta.

I LOVE Tinkyada's products. I am sensitive to wheat/gluten, but not allergic. If you follow the cooking directions, it will come out fine. You can let it sit in it's sauce indefinitely, and it it won't overcook, like regular pasta. It's great for date night, when you might be busy...having a glass of wine...while you wait for dinner.

The other night, I tried cooking it the alternate way (it's on the package) because I am temporarily using a kitchen with only one small gas burner, and several electric appliances. I really wanted pasta, so I boiled the water, added the spirals, let boil for a couple of minutes (stirred a few times) then took it off the heat and let it sit COVERED for about 20 mins while I sauteed veggies and made a sauce. It worked! YAY! energy-efficient food! I love it!

When the sauce was ready, we drained the pasta...yup...cooked thru...and dumped it in the saucepan. We let it sit while we did some other things, and it's texture was still great!

As someone who has always loved pasta, living gluten free for the past year has been extremely frustrating. I've tried countless types of pasta, including corn pasta, rice pasta and an interesting corn/navy bean blend pasta and the Tikyada Brown Rice pastas (NOTE: I particularly like the ones with rice bran - it's noted on the label) have been the best that I've had. I actually served it to someone the other day who doesn't live GF and he didn't notice a difference between that and regular pasta. I do, however, find that I don't need to cook it as long as it says on the package. I shorten the cooking time by about 2-4 minutes usually and just keep checking to see when it is done. They go very well with GF vodka sauce. Enjoy!

I served this for the first time a few days ago in a casserole. My family didn't even know it was gluten free. We've been using Barilla Plus pasta for a while due to its higher protein count, but I can no longer have gluten. I was bummed out about cooking pasta for the family without getting to enjoy it so I decided to give this a shot.

I agree with the above poster that it needs less cook time than stated on the package.

Tinkyada Brown Rice gluten free products are simply some of the best imitations of wheat noodles. Our one child has gluten sensitivities so we're switched to some alternatives. Tinkyada is one of the best finds. The noodles cook over a reasonable length of time (around 15-17 minutes) and have a firm texture and a taste that is quite indistinguishable from regular noodles. We've enjoyed the noodles with spaghetti, macaroni and cheese, and casseroles. For texture and taste these cannot be beat for those needing something gluten free due to Celiac disease or other reasons. Everyone in the family is willing to eat these noodles. There is a slight taste difference when tried side by side with regular noodles but not pronounced at all unlike the yucky after taste of noodles made from bean flour. We would highly recommend these to others and have given packages away as gifts to friends with gluten issues.

I love Tinkyada and order it through Amazon regularly to feed my family of 7. However, the spirals are awful and I will never order them again. They just plain fall apart, no matter how they are cooked. By the time they are on your plate, you're going to have little spiral edges all separated from the main piece. They are also very hard to get on a fork. This is my second time ordering spirals and I'm done with them. Im going to stick with the other varieties.

Since i live a gluten free lifestyle, I try all the gf pastas. This is by far the best in my book with the consistency of wheat flour pastas.

It's a large bag of pasta, which will make enough for at least 8 people (with heeping plates full). But once bag is opened, you have to store in plastic or glass container to keep fresh - so not convenient unless you're using entire bag at once.

I've cooked it traditionally, boiling and then cooling - and also the way it suggests on bag, boil quickly and cool longer. Both work fine.

Again, my favorite thing about this pasta is the texture. When I add a small amount of olive oil it melts in my mouth. The flavor is bland (which it's supposed to be - it's pasta!) and it goes well with an assortment of cheeses.

They're a little more expensive than other brands, but worth it to me for taste.

Love to mix it with vegetables. Enjoy!
