Bright Colors, Fun Shapes, and Engaging Sounds
Follow Me Fred pleases the visual and tactile senses with his bright colors and his soft head and tail. He features three cheerful tunes that are activated when your child touches his colorful buttons. A mute button turns off the sound, should parents prefer more peace and quiet.

At the top of each leg, Fred has a fun button or shape. For example, on one leg he has a beaded mirror and on another, a hologram image. Your baby will have fun pressing these buttons.

Self-Rolling Puppy Encourages Crawling
Follow Me Fred uses movement to help encourage your baby to crawl. By touching the puppy, your baby activates him to move, helping pique your baby's interest and delight the senses. Your baby will be drawn to keep up with or pet Follow Me Fred as Fred moves along. Fred will bark encouragingly as a reminder for your baby to keep crawling after him.

Speeds to Suit Any Crawling Stage
Follow Me Fred can be set to move in a circular motion or in a straight line by manipulating the puppy's unique accordion-shaped body. Parents can set the puppy to walk at different speeds by pressing the paw button on Fred's front leg. This allows parents to customize Fred for your child's different crawling stages--slow at first and then faster when your baby is more able.

We took a chance and bought this toy without any reviews, therefore knowing nothing about it. It was a good choice! We've only had it for a little over a week, but it is a popular toy with my 7 month old and even my almost 3 year old. My 7 month old loves to play with his crinkly ears! She still doesn't crawl yet, but it is perfect to help her learn. All you have to do is barely pat the dog and it moves forward. I like that it doesn't go too far to encourage the baby to go after it. It makes cute noises and plays cute songs. You can make the dog go straight or in circles by bending the accordion part of his body. You can also set it so it doesn't move. You have the option of muting it too, which is nice if you get tired of the songs and noises. This is a great "chase and crawl" toy to help babies who are learning to crawl and for those who already do crawl!

I gave this toy to my 9 month old for Christmas and he loved it. It is so cute and it is very durable (it has already been dropped several times and ridden by a two year old.) It walks really well on my tile floors but not at all on the carpet. But it is a way cute toy!

This toy is very cute. My baby likes the sounds it makes and the crinkly ears. However, I bought this toy to help him learn how to crawl and the toy DOES NOT move at all on the carpet. At first I thought I had a defective one but I put it on the kitchen floor and it moved fine. What baby learns to crawl on the kitchen floor, though?! I would not have purchased this item with that knowledge.

I got this toy and the packaging was covered with scotch tape and quite sad looking. It would not work when I took it out of the packaging so I checked the batteries and they were corroded! I put new batteries in and it still doesn't work! I'm returning it.

We bought this for him at 6 months and he still plays with it at 14 months. It's very cute and can withstand a good beating. He plays, throws, follows and loves it. It barks and plays music and wimpers a few times. My neighbors kid was terrified of it, but my son just loves it.

July 2013 Update:

In May, Customer Service offered to send me a new Follow Me Fred because the old one was in perfect shape, but the battery compartment couldn't be fixed. I received the new one and so far it is working well. I still only rate this 3 stars because I have yet to see whether this one will hold up for longer than 6 months (which is Tiny Love's end of replacement duration).

Original May 2013 review:

I purchased this toy for my daughter in 2010 and it worked well, but the batteries always died very quickly. It didn't help her learn to crawl, which is why I purchased it; however it did amuse her greatly. When she grew into toddlerhood I took out the batteries and put the toy carefully away in the closet. I brought it out recently for my baby boy and put in new batteries. The toy won't even turn on now. Both my husband and I have inspected everything carefully and yes, the batteries are in correctly. There is absolutely no damage - not even a scuff - on this toy and the battery compartment is pristine. I contacted Tiny Love customer service and they won't replace anything after 6 months. They suggested I purchase the part I need, which is laughable because upon close inspection no part is missing, damaged or defected. How would I know which part to replace?
Two stars for poor customer service and lack of durability of the toy itself.
Buy something else from a company that will actually take care of its customers.

Follow me Fred is a great toy, I introduced Fred to my 5 mos old daughter, she rolled over for the first time that day, trying to get to the toy. She loves the crinkly ears and noises, she is now 6.5 mos old still not crawling but she is interested in Fred over most of her other toys. I highly recommend this toy.

I really wanted to like this toy. It seems like a great idea but it just wasn't for us. We gave it to my son for Christmas last year, he was 9 months old and crawling well. He had recently started walking and I thought he would enjoy chasing the toy around. He ignored it for months. This past summer (16-18 months) he took a slight interest in it but all he wanted to do with it was push it on the floor to make it go faster. The toy moves too slow for his liking. The sounds are annoying at best and they continue long after the dog has been ignored. It's not a bad toy, just not for us. The rating is low because the noises really are terrible. Barking, whining and music that seems to go on forever
