As a server I want to say Thank you 🙏 on behalf of everyone else that your book will change our lives. Before I was finish reading I already started my budget template and I am ready to take on the busy season and apply all the lessons that was taught. This is literally a financial course in 165 pages ???? No way! It doesn’t get any better than this. I have worked in quite a few restaurants and 99.9% of the workers don’t have a penny in savings. It always surprises me and majority of them wasn’t living Paycheck to paycheck it was their choice of lifestyle that hindered them. And this book will be an eye opener to those people when they read and hopefully they will take the lessons and turn it into a blessing.
As an Immigrant who doesn’t know much on the Roth IRA and 401 k this book gave me the knowledge for what to do in all aspects. Thank you Barbara you are amazing!!!

Bought this book for my Kindle because I was looking for more industry related books. I've been in the industry for16 years and have read finance books before, but none geared so specifically towards tipped employees.This book is perfect for bartenders or servers who make a fluid amount of tips from month to month. Sometimes I'm not sure if the author has actually worked in the industry but with specific examples that I could relate to it seemed to validate her. Her tone is encouraging, humble and hopeful throughout the book. I loved the part about 'Lifestyle Creep', I could relate to that to a T. While reading the book I had to catch myself from wanting to purchase additional copies for colleagues, hopefully in the future. For now I'll just share a link. If you're a tipped employee and you're trying to get a comprehensive understanding of your finances, this is the book for you. I also loved Barbara's writing style, don't overthink it, just get the book if you're curious, it's a great read.

This is legit the most amazing finance book I’ve read.

Barbara Sloan wrote a finance book to serve a drastically underserved community; strippers, bartenders, waitresses, essentially those that live off cash tips primarily.

She’s done the toughest of these jobs herself, went through challenging times, definitely made significant mistakes along the way, and still came out on top financially. She’s the perfect person to write this book for her community.

She does a stellar job of laying out why these professionals need a separate book with tailored advice for their unique situations.

They really have no human resources department to help with retirement accounts or any other work related issues.

They often aren’t sure if they should report their cash income and the pros and cons of doing so.

They don’t fully grasp how difficult it is to successfully navigate the issues of drugs and alcohol that are such a common pitfall of workers in this space.

They don’t understand or even believe that financial independence is an option for them, but it absolutely is.

The author has proved that in her own life.

She writes with an openness, rawness, and vulnerability uncommon in the financial space.

It is such an amazing read.

Just buy the damn thing.
