This is a nice case, almost like a sleeve. At the bottom on the back is a lycra panel that is held closed via velcro which doesn't look like velcro though. The clear plastic panel covers from the top of the screen to the bottom of the keyboard. Since it is plastic you can get glare which you have to tilt your kindle a little to remove. The case itself feels very soft, almost like felt. There are little thin rubber strips where the page change buttons are and the page change buttons press very easily, almost like the cover is not there. I can slide the power switch and adjust the volume through the lycra without opening it up. You do have to open the panel to connect the micro usb cable or headset. I was able to make 2 small slits on the left, behind the seam, and fit the kindle still in the cover into my kindle lighted case. When I fit it into the lighted case it lifts up on the right side slightly but appears to be about the same as it does without the cover on it. The gray color complements my charcoal kindle. I don't get any glare on the screen when using the light from the case.

This sleeve fits my wife's Kindle 2 (with keyboard) very well. It is not substantial, though keeps the viewing screen and keyboard free of sand. Most importantly it keeps the electronic ports and switches covered.

The case fits like a sleeve with the bottom back 1/5th overlapping the gap you slide the kindle into. The viewing surface is glossy plastic, though does not detract from view wuality too much, epecially when assuming you'll likely be outside in sunshine.
The page forward/back is covered and has marking on the cover to show where to press, though after a couple of minutes you don't need this.
The on/off slider and headphone jack is completely covered. This does mean that the on/off slider is a little trickier to work than usual, though once you figure out the feel and position it is possible.

Overall, this is a reasonably priced cover that does a good job of protecting against splashes and sand incursion.

Hope this helps, Mike

Why do these companies keep calling these types of things cases? Wouldn't that imply some sort of rugged durability? This is a very snazzy plastic bag not a "case".
Anyway, it is nice. The seems are all tucked so they're not really noticeable, and the fabric is comfortable to hold for long periods. This is not dunk-able. If someone tries to be funny and tosses it in a pool, they'll be buying you a new Kindle or be an acquaintance but never a friend.
The company had some spiel about saving Earth on the package. There was enough packaging to box a dozen of these things. Don't tell me about saving the earth w/ reduced this or that and follow-up w/ a slightly smaller box in the shipping box holding a PLASTIC bag w/ a fuzzy back to put my radioactive-toxic-battery-powered-until-the-nonreplaceable-battery-dies-plastic-encased-electronic device in. Although, of all the things to package w/ I am glad it was completely recyclable, biodegradable cardboard. Made from the only natural resource we (responsible humans) can actually replace as we use; wood.
I would recommend if you don't need a stand or plan on treating your belongings as if they had no worth.

I bought this for my new Kindle to protect it from random spills that always seems to happen around expensive electronics. Its very slim and feels nice to the touch. Its got a felt- like back and the protective screen cover is a thicker clear plastic. I took the advice of others and cut a small hole for the sleeper button at the bottom. But its easy to use the buttons and I don't see any glare with the screen. I'm more of a naked kindle user so this works well for me since it gives protection without bulk. Still gotta be careful you don't drop it.

I bought two Kindle covers on Amazon. I never tried the second one because I love this one!! It fits very snuggly so it doesn't make your Kindle bulky and you can use all the buttons without taking the cover off. I would also slip my iPhone in the back of my Kindle inside of this cover. I thought this cover was only water resistant and would keep my Kindle protected from splashing. All was going well until a bee landed on my hand and I dropped my Kindle in the pool. I retrieved it fast but it went down about 2 feet. When I opened it up not only was my Kindle working but my iPhone was too!!!! Don't let the low price deceive you. I love this cover.....

This is a great little cover - so much so that I just ordered another one while the price is low and they're available. When I first received it last month, I didn't think it would be useful, but after I managed to break my 3rd Kindle Keyboard because I insist on carrying them everywhere with me, in pocket, purse or wherever, I dragged it out again. The case is so slim that it STILL fits in my pocket (I'm prone to using with Kindle with earbuds while I work around the house), and the buttons are easy to use through the plastic. The rubber stips on the sides to use the page forward and back buttons are very useful, and the flap at the bottom opens easily to attach earphones or adjust the volume. It's a keeper.
