A striking combination of silvery stainless steel and black, we think you'll become an instant fan of the Tissot Men's PRC 200 Black Dial Watch. This stylish timepiece begins with a 40mm stainless steel case with a fixed stainless steel bezel. A prominent stainless steel crown graces the right side of the case. These elements cradle a lovely black dial with Arabic hour markers at the 6, 9 and 12 'o clock positions. The dial, which is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, also features a date display window at the 3 'o clock position and hands powered by precise quartz movement. A black leather band with white stitching straps this watch to the wrist, while a trusted deployment clasp ensures that it stays there.

I did that because in some of Amazon's reviews (not necessarily this watch), some users were skeptical about the authenticity of the watches (some actually were confirming that Amazon is selling fake watches). So, I ended up buying the watch anyway with the intention of doing rigorous research to see if it's authentic or not, and was going to return it if it failed the test.
I ended up keeping it because everything I read and watched online about how to validate a watch said this is the real thing.
At first glance, it is a pretty standard watch - leather strap and medium sized face.
After wearing it for a month, i am loving the style and fit more and more. The face could be a bit larger, but it fits really well on my arm.
The snap-band is awkward to get used to, but I actually really like it since it won't wear the band the way normal buckles will. After a couple days, you forget that the band snaps on instead of buckles the normal way. It just fits really well. And if it doesn't the adjustment is very easy to do, and very intuitive to do. Not the hassle of taking it to a store to remove links.
The only criticism I have, and its a fairly small one at that, is that the band is made for small wrists. I have a very thin frame, and wear the watch on the second to last notch, which means someone with a larger wrist would have to replace the band.
As buying watches online and reviewing them is not my main deal, so I will focus only on a few details I think may be relevant. I will not be comprehensive, as I believe your choice will mostly be aesthetically and brand based, with a nod to price as well, none of which I will bother to advise on.
The band for this watch has been a focal point in the 2 other reviews that exist at this point. As there are no instructions for how to open the clasp in the many booklets that come in the box (it really is a box of considerable homage to Tissot, even including a novella on the history of the watch) , I suggest before buying this watch, go into a good high-end watch dealer where you will be dotes over and try it on first. I enjoyed sitting in sumptuous surrounds being attended to in a very high end watch store on Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich Switzerland, trying the watch on to be sure I loved it.
They showed me how to open the clasp, which is solid, works faster and is much better than a buckle which kinks and frays the leather anyway.
It is a simple mechanism. With the watch facing away from you, clasp the edge of the band between thumb and forefinger and pull up. There are two hinges.
I have showered with the leather band, and it soaks up the water but dries happily without any crisping up or other issues. I just wore it a notch looser for a few hours...
Size of face: I have large hands and thin celtic wrists. This watch is fine. It certainly is not in the "oversized range" . This watch face has girth / radius of 40mm, as oppose to the enormous 52mm IWC inspired watches out there.
Importing to Switzerland. A good idea. Buying from this provider means the country of manufacture is clearly labelled and the package is exempt from import duty, tax and general post office hassles. This meant a saving of about CHF100 off the retail of 365 Swiss francs.
The watch was larger than I wanted, kindof clunky thick and a few mm bigger than what would have looked best on my 5'7" guy. But I am still very pleased with the purchase.
Functionally, the watch is great. The face is large without being too big for my small wrists. That, along with the large, clear numbers and the lack of chronograph features make it very easy to read at a glance. The leather strap feels pretty solid, and the clasp is a nice convenience.
In terms of look and feel, you can tell that this is definitely not a thousand dollar watch, but it is much better that what I would have expected for two fifty. For example the leather strap is nice but not luxurious. The clasp is pretty thin (as in they probably reduced it to cut cost) but still good for the price. The case, numbers, and crown are all highly polished which creates a premium look. And they are all pretty hefty (actually just shy of being clunky) but all in all, I think the heft helps to give the watch a premium look and feel.
The thing that really pushes this watch into five star territory (again, given the price) is the little flourishes of quality, detail, and finish. The hands are slightly tapered (thinner at the center) which fits well with the rest of the design and again adds a feeling of heft. The red highlights on the outer edge of the face add a nice touch that you only notice upon closer inspection. The "T" on the seconds hand is a neat flourish, as is the screw down crown and the accent stitching on the band. Also, you can call me a snob, but I didn't want to buy a fossil diesel, or guess watch.Read more ›

A nice looking rubber strap and I might have kept this watch. Perhaps even a normal leather strap, though it would have to be wider: in my opinion, the size/diameter of the watch... Read morePublished on April 17, 2013 by Nate W
