Top Customer Reviews
Functionally, the watch is great. The face is large without being too big for my small wrists. That, along with the large, clear numbers and the lack of chronograph features make it very easy to read at a glance. The leather strap feels pretty solid, and the clasp is a nice convenience.
In terms of look and feel, you can tell that this is definitely not a thousand dollar watch, but it is much better that what I would have expected for two fifty. For example the leather strap is nice but not luxurious. The clasp is pretty thin (as in they probably reduced it to cut cost) but still good for the price. The case, numbers, and crown are all highly polished which creates a premium look. And they are all pretty hefty (actually just shy of being clunky) but all in all, I think the heft helps to give the watch a premium look and feel.
The thing that really pushes this watch into five star territory (again, given the price) is the little flourishes of quality, detail, and finish. The hands are slightly tapered (thinner at the center) which fits well with the rest of the design and again adds a feeling of heft. The red highlights on the outer edge of the face add a nice touch that you only notice upon closer inspection. The "T" on the seconds hand is a neat flourish, as is the screw down crown and the accent stitching on the band. Also, you can call me a snob, but I didn't want to buy a fossil diesel, or guess watch. I wanted something with a bit more of a name as an actual watch brand. Tissot typically positions itself nearer to a $1,000+ price point, so they way I see it, the Tissot branding on the watch is also a flourish that you would not typically see on a watch at this price.
The caveat in my review is that I only paid two fifty for the watch while the msrp is closer to four hundo. At full price, I'd probably say that this watch is about average; not a bad deal but not great either.
She loves the watch and wears it all the time, sometimes even too much as for cooking or washing different stuff, anyway the leather seems to be well treated. We'll not expect to be long lasting as steel bracelet but for sure more elegant.
Saw few people complaining about the locking mechanism also used on many others watches. As far as I'm concern it's not a problem whatsoever, more it will save the band appearance longer because due to the smart clasp it's not being worn each time you buckling and unbuckling it.
Still, only four stars because just recently the seconds hand went loose without any mechanical shock. Problem was easily fixed but on several watches that I own and even being abused on different occasions, hands never went loose.
Final words: elegant, precise watch, minor concerns about the assembly. Still would recommend it.
At first glance, it is a pretty standard watch - leather strap and medium sized face.
After wearing it for a month, i am loving the style and fit more and more. The face could be a bit larger, but it fits really well on my arm.
The snap-band is awkward to get used to, but I actually really like it since it won't wear the band the way normal buckles will. After a couple days, you forget that the band snaps on instead of buckles the normal way. It just fits really well. And if it doesn't the adjustment is very easy to do, and very intuitive to do. Not the hassle of taking it to a store to remove links.
The only criticism I have, and its a fairly small one at that, is that the band is made for small wrists. I have a very thin frame, and wear the watch on the second to last notch, which means someone with a larger wrist would have to replace the band.
The watch was larger than I wanted, kindof clunky thick and a few mm bigger than what would have looked best on my 5'7" guy. But I am still very pleased with the purchase.
I did that because in some of Amazon's reviews (not necessarily this watch), some users were skeptical about the authenticity of the watches (some actually were confirming that Amazon is selling fake watches). So, I ended up buying the watch anyway with the intention of doing rigorous research to see if it's authentic or not, and was going to return it if it failed the test.
I ended up keeping it because everything I read and watched online about how to validate a watch said this is the real thing.
