From aesthetics perspective, it's a classy, understated dress watch. It goes well with office wear i.e. tie and or suit. The size is perfect for medium sized wrists. The markers/emblems are crisp and the hour, minute, second hands are perfectly aligned. The crystal is sapphire which is somewhat unusual at this price range as it means no scratches with minor scuffs. Wrist strap (leather)is slightly hard in the first week but conforms well to your wrist in a week or 10 days of wearing it. The case metal is thin which adds to the dressiness of the watch. It is far from being an attention grabber or look at me kind of watch., which is again good from my perspective. People who don't know a whole lot about watches may easily confuse it with a timex which used to or perhaps still comes with a similar styling. Very comfortable on my wrist (subjective of course)
Reliability in terms of accuracy is bullet proof and right on with the best quartz watches.
If tissot made this watch in automatic iteration, this would be a perfect watch and I will buy instantly.
A few complaints... The second-hand is noticably out of alignment with the indices on the dial; an annoying "defect" that is unfortunately common with quartz watches. I also don't like the plasticky look and feel of the faux crocodile strap. I've owned genuine croc straps before, so I know how they look and feel. The strap is also a little too thick and beefy for such a thin low profile watch. Also, the buckle has the "TISSOT" logo printed on it, which makes it look cheap. It would be more elegant if the logo was embossed. I wound up removing the logo with a Q-tip dipped in acetone (i.e. nail polish remover); wipes right off. Nonetheless, I replaced the cheap strap with a thin, black genuine lizard skin strap ($30) with no stitching. The watch now looks even more classy and elegant and is more comfortable to wear as well.
Nonetheless, I still recommend this watch despite these shortcomings. It is a relatively good value for a Swiss-made dress watch. A poor-man's Patek.
The watch comes packages in a nice box, with a user manual and some other paraphernalia that I didn't look at.
The face is 34 mm, which is on the smaller side for men's watches. I'm average height/weight, and t's actually perfect for me. The contrast of the black hands on the white face make it easy to read. The date display is large enough that I can read it, even with my marginal vision.
The band is of very nice quality - considerably heavier than the replacements I've bought in the mall for my other watches. It will take some time before I know just how durable it is.
