Sooo.. I bought another one. It works just as good as the first one, and it's the only peeler I'll ever need. Ever seen the commercials that show them peeling a pineapple? It works. I know because I tested it. And not only that, it didn't dull the blades one bit! I put it in the dishwasher too. I had my old one for a few years and it never got dull. This one won't either. It beats having to peel vegetables with a knife or one of those cheap sideways peelers that almost always breaks right when I need it the most. If I had anything negative to say about it, it would be watch your fingers, because it will cut you. Other than that, it's one of the best kitchen tools I've ever owned.
Now when I peel potatoes, I make extra sure that the peeler doesn't go in the bag! :-)
Let me add that I take one along whenever I'm going to stay somewhere with a kitchen I'm expected to utilize (along with a good chef's knife, some parchment paper, and an egg timer). I accidentally left one at a condo rental a few months ago, and immediately ordered a replacement. I have two at home, and use them all the time.
The jury is out about the quality of the peeler. The peeler part came out of the handle on the smaller peeler. I was able to get it back in, but it shouldn't have done that.
The shredder it comes with is not nearly as good, as the shredded strips tend to get caught in its teeth. It's useable, and beats hauling out the food processor, but I'd give it a 70%. On the other hand, I'd give the peeler 100% with extra points for effort -- or the lack thereof it takes to use it.
P.S. It'll probably outlast the user.

The julienne device is not really something I use. Wish they sold just the peeler.
