I just finished putting it together, did it by myself fairly easily, another set of hands would have probably saved some time. I used a hammer drill to secure the bolts - just take it easy and don't overdo it. It did make the job a lot easier. The instructions mention a washer, there are no washers. Not a big deal. The direction the bolts go through the holes are not specifically mentioned or shown clearly so use your best judgement. The two bottom braces for example have square holes on one side, circular on the other - the square side needs to be down for a later step.
The only issue was the plastic caps for the holes on the top of the vertical brace - but who honestly cares.
It was packed pretty well, and no parts were damaged. I think it took almost as long for me to break down and cut up all the boxes as it did for me to build this damn thing! :)
The bench was a separate purchase from amazon. Attached is my snap story of it being put together.
The assembly isn't too complicated, about an hour or two to complete. Definitely wanna have someone else there to help out though. There will be black powder coming off of the rack so get the vaumm ready.
Absolutely perfect for bench press since there is an inch of space between each hole. I was able to actually role the bar across the safety racks without the bar touching my nose! If I have proper form (arching my back and all) the bar will touch my chest without that loud clangy sound.
Bent over rows are just as perfect. The only problem I could see one having is the safety racks not going low enough if they were shorter.
Deadlifts, come on. You can do deadlifts anywhere...moving on!
Overhead press will have to be done outside or seated because there is not nearly enough length to do it.
These are all the mainlifts I do with this rack.
All in all, I am in love with this rack, especially for the price.
