About Toan Phan
Dr. Toan Phan (born 1984) grew up in Hanoi, Vietnam and moved to the U.S. at the age of 18 to pursue his love for numbers and colors. He is a research scientist during the day and is an artist at night. He wants to use his art, in particular storytelling through manga, to help water the seeds of gratitude and compassion for the Earth, in himself and in others. His works are influenced by the manga masterpieces of Osamu Tezuka, Hayao Miyazaki, and Daisuke Igarashi, as well as by the mindful teachings of Buddhist master Thich Nhat Hanh. *Toan commits to donating 100% of profits from the sales of any of his books to environmental causes.
