This book is shorter than the first with fewer chapters, larger print and colorful pictures. While the series is targeted for ages five through fourteen, this book is most appropriate as an early reader, probably suited best for ages six through ten. Readers will learn a lot about animals and farm life.
Its well written and full of pictures that my niece loves as i read to her.
The text is simple and the words are not difficult which is perfect for my niece to follow along and understand.
this is one of her favorite reads, i am going have to get the others haha
I was impressed with the actual photography making sense in terms of the story line. Children will absolutely love this.
I admit that after having had a little Bantam Cock for a pet when I was a small child, I've not thought of chickens as anything but a Sunday lunch since. However, now after the Chicken Patrol I will never again dig into a chicken with total glee again. Now I know they have feelings too!
If you are a parent or a grandparent do know that with this series you have a perfect gift for the Christmas stockings. Children will love reading about Toby and his friends. And I assure you that before you wrap up the stocking, you too will love reading about them.
This is the second book about the life of the animals and birds, at the smallholding where the author lives.
My boys have had chickens and know about them, so they enjoyed me reading this short story to them.
It is all about Bubbles, a hen who loses her chick.
Can Toby the Border Collie, whose job is looking after everyone on the smallholding, find the chick, or is there foul play at work?
We enjoyed reading this story which contains a strong message for children, hidden skilfully in it.
Will Toby the Border Collie manage to find the chick?
Or, has she been taken by Mr. Fox?
Children will enjoy this delightful little book which contains many full colour photos of real chickens, and parents will love the way that hidden within the story is a little moral for the children…
