Together Is Better: A Little Book of Inspiration Hardcover – Illustrated, September 13, 2016
Simon Sinek sparked a movement with his bestsellers START WITH WHY and LEADERS EAT LAST. Now this beautifully illustrated book will inspire more readers to ask for help, help others, and discover their own courage through a charming story about change.
Life is a series of choices. Do we go left or right? Jump forward or hold back?
Sometimes our choices work out for the better…and sometimes they don’t. But there is one choice, regardless of every other decision, that profoundly affects how we feel about our journey: Do we go alone or do we go together?
It is the courageous few who ask for help. It is the giving few willing to help others. We can all find the courage we need and know the joy of service – the minute we learn that together is better.
Filled with inspiring quotes, this richly illustrated fable tells a delightful story of three kids who go on a journey to a new playground and take a stand for what they believe. The story is a metaphor for anyone looking to make a change or wondering how to pursue their dreams. And the message is simple: relationships – real, human relationships – really, really matter. The stronger our relationships, the stronger the bonds of trust and cooperation, the more we can accomplish and the more joy and fulfillment we get from our work and personal lives.
The three heroes are archetypes who represent us all at various points in our lives. Their main challenge is the same one we face every day: How can we find the things we’re looking for? According to Sinek, if we each do our part to help advance a shared vision, we can build the world we imagine.
In addition to the story itself, Sinek shares such profound lessons as:
· A team is not a group of people that work together. A team is a group of people that trust each other.
· Fight against something and we focus on the thing we hate. Fight for something and we focus on the thing we love.
· Working hard for something we don’t care about is called stress. Working hard for something we love is called passion.
· A star wants to see himself rise to the top. A leader wants to see those around him become stars.
Together is Better was designed to be given as a gift to someone you want to inspire, or to say thank you to someone who inspires you. It's completely different from Sinek's previous work. It may look like a children's book, but it's definitely for adults.
This book includes a special page featuring the Scent of Optimism.

It's sentiment is reassuring and optimistic. It's not going to change your life immediately and it's not going to try to sell you that you can find happiness quickly and easily.
It's more about pointing you on a better path and giving you a pat on that back that things should be better and can be better and maybe they will be better.
This is the book I'd give to someone whose burned out from working hard and stuck in a routine they don't like and needs a little hope.
Along with Simon Sinek's more in depth book, "Start with Why", I gave a copy of this to myself and I'm glad I did.
That with stating, I did not learn any new concepts in this book, only that he spoke the concepts in a different way and possibly for a specific audience.
I had originally purchased because i wanted to use this book as one of my groomsmen gifts, but it is best left to give to a young colleague or college graduate trying to find his way in his career.
I just ordered a second book for my 19 year old daughter, that grew up with her father. She lacked the kind of love and support a parent should give until she was 15 when we found each other... yes, I hadn’t seen her for 9 years... anyway, she wants to do college alone, and I think it’s great... but I have also been opening her up to new ideas and to being able to accept support. She listens and loves when I can show her new ways to ease her mind, and I think this will be a great addition to her college apartment.

My first disappointment was the dirty condition of the book.. fingerprints all over the pages and the sides.. as if someone illiterate tried to read the book, flipping through the pages with dirty fingers.. which is basically painful to see ..
The book probably passed on through, to so many buyers and was returned that the “fragrance of optimism” ..which was one of the reasons I spent ₹570 on an illustrated book, smelled no different than the new book smell..!
The illustrations are all on orange and white.. and it seems to get boring and repetitive half way across the “story of 3 friends”
Sans the smell of optimism, the book can definitely be republished in an ebook form! So if you too are buying this because of all the hype about the fragrance and the fact that this can only be read in a paperback/ hardbound format, be prepared to be a little disappointed.. :(
PS : This particular seller always sends the used and returned books first.. then you have to request for a replacement, only then you get the new version!!

It's supposed to have a scent in the pages, mine didn't.
