The Tokina AT-X 107 DX is a fish-eye lens that gives the digital photographer an approximate 180 Degree field of view with dramatic curvature of field or "fish-eye" effect. With this lens an entire view or vista can be captured, wider than the human eye can see.

I ordered a 2nd lens to take side-by-side comparison photos and the differences were stark. The 2nd lens showed none of the problems the first lens displayed. Interestingly enough, I checked the "auto settings" for the last two of my comparison shots and speed and aperture settings were identical.
Both the orders were fulfilled by Amazon (i.e. were Prime orders) but were listed as being sourced by different vendors. Neither box was "sealed" in any way; however, it was obvious that the first box had been opened before (the top was bent where someone had lifted the cover, and the lens wrapper was seriously crinkled).
As always, Amazon's return policy is stellar. However, this is also why I never buy anything unless it's identified as Prime; I know that I have Amazon in the middle to protect me.
The first lens has now been returned, and I flagged the return as being because the item was "defective". I hope that this will prevent the item from going back into inventory and being sent out to someone else. The fact that it had been already opened before me makes me worried that I wasn't the first to discover the item's defectiveness. I would urge Amazon to put safeguards in place to make sure that items returned as defective don't make it back out to another Amazon customer.
One last note on the lens. I ordered this for my wife who uses a Nikon D90, and I took the original photos using her camera. She went for out-of-town work and took her camera with her before the second lens arrived. I took the comparison shots using my D40. The first thing I noticed is that the lens wouldn't "autofocus" given the D40's electronics whereas it would using the D90's. If autofocus is important to you then I would urge some homework be done in advance to ensure that this lens will work seamlessly with your camera model before purchasing.
With my CANON 20D Body i have to use it at 10mm to get the maximum fisheye effect but still little bit less than 180 degree of the view on this body due to the 1.6 crop factor.
But on the full frame bodies (starting from 14mm) and 1.4 crop factor (at 10mm) bodies it's perfect.
Any way I think it's the best choice for those who have body with crop factor.
Image quality is great, with sharp shots, and the coating is perfect ,no flares, BUT there is few chromatic aberrations at the edges and at the highlight spots, it's acceptable, and can be corrected by Photoshop easily, and still your photos are published even if didn't correct it.
The Auto focus is accurate and work perfect, the Manual focus is very soft which i didn't like, but you don't need Manual focus most of the time for this lens.
Finally i recommend this lens for any body who like the fisheye effects and who search for super wide angle shots, with any Canon EOS Body.
