Imagine walking into a white table cloth presentation of the world's healthiest foods prepared by a master chef. Every dish you look at gives off a sumptuous aroma that makes you want to savor its taste and flavor. And you do not need to feel guilty about eating these culinary delights because they provide rich nutrients vital for your health and well-being. The culinary genius who amassed this tantalizing presentation of the world's healthiest dishes with distinctive plating styles has meticulously studied and practiced the art of health food selection, preparation and presentation for over 50 years. You are the beneficiary of his passion for serving exquisite dishes that will forever change your appetite for what you put into your body. The chef of positive thinking is Dr. David J. Abbott, author of Zero Tolerance to Negative Thinking and eleven other books of the same genre. Dr. Abbott is concerned with helping you develop a positive brain free of cognitive distortions that lead to twisted and distorted emotions, and for many, to depression. The health food he serves is positive thinking. He brilliantly presents the vital ingredients of positive thinking and how to feed them to the mind in a palatable way that will enable you to reprogram the software of your mind and install a new operating system. He also deftly instructs you on how to wean yourself off of the junk food of the mind, negative thinking, that for many has become an addiction. You may have read many other books on positive thinking and believe that you do not need to read another book on the subject because you understand the basic principles. This rationale would apply aptly to most books on positive thinking. However, this book is not like most books on positive thinking because this author, a medical doctor by training, approaches the subject from a more holistic point of view including the biochemistry of the brain which he simplifies so that a child can easily understand it. If you are struggling under the weight of negative thinking like most people, and want a practical, clear, proven positive thinking cookbook filled with all of the right ingredients for a robust, healthy mind, read Zero Tolerance to Negative Thinking. No price tag can be put on the invaluable information contained in this book. If the advice is followed, it has the potential to radically change you and the world for the better. Many books make lofty promises. This book delivers on its promise to show you how to create and sustain a truly positive mind. What's that worth to you? Eat and enjoy this rare culinary fare prepared with love by the master chef of positive thinking for you. You'll treasure this delectable book and return to it many times to keep mentally fit.
To be honest, I thought at first that it was going to be a typical self-help, psycho-pop book, but instead I found a compendium of solid, practical and tried advice for a wide range of conditions, from serious clinical depression -which logically involves seeking professional help- to just the mild mood swings that anyone can experience. All of it presented in a clear, understandable (and even fun!) way. To say that it's a life changing book it would be an understatement.
