Blog postA big, bad, beautiful blue… pistol. As is so often the case I got the call on a Friday at work. The grandmother in room two had a social disease, the toddler in three had shoved an aquarium rock up his nose, and Mrs. Morrison in four was convinced she had passed a snake in her bowel movement (“It was two feet long with a head and two eyes!”). The call from the President was a welcome respite.

Blog postThe lesser-known pistol that just might have been the super-spy gun of all time?
The HSc is actually the more advanced of the two designs. HSc stands for Hahn Selbstspanner or “self-cocking hammer,” and it represented the state-of-the-art in 1940 when it was introduced. There are certain mechanical aspects of this extraordinary concealed carry gun that have not been bettered even today.
The HSc is a remarkably trim and rakish design. The hammer is fully concealed save a small1 week ago Read more -

“In January 2016 at Shot we went over to the Korth booth and introduced ourselves,” Mark explained to me. “Great people at every level. They’ve been awesome to work with and we truly have a friendship that has developed. Everyone at Korth, from the owner, Martin Rothmann, to their gunsmiths and machinist are simply first class,” Mark told me. “We’ve been at their factory in Lollar, Germany several times, and they’ve visited us as well several times. Blog postI’ve shot this model a coupe of times. Let’s just say it’ll wake you up in the morning
The 500 S&W Magnum made its first appearance at the 2003 SHOT show. Designed by Cor-Bon in partnership with S&W for their Model 500 X-Frame revolver, the .50-caliber semi-rimmed cartridge has two primary purposes. The first being a handgun cartridge capable of taking any North American game species. The second? To simply have bragging rights for being the most powerful production handgun car1 week ago Read more -
Blog postA suppressed Gatling Gun? Sure! Because... well, why not? Built from titanium, stainless steel, aluminum and brass, the Liberty Gatling Canister is constructed of eighter internal monocores that vent into the suppressor’s main chamber, giving each barrel an independent and fully functional suppressor module. Adding 10.2” to the Gatling Gun’s 27” length, the suppressor weighs

Blog postThe late Jackson Beard, who rose through the ranks of the King County, Washington Sheriff’s Department, once observed during a conversation about stopping power he was “a firm believer in a big, slow-moving bullet.” In the Pacific Northwest, where most people, including bad ones, layer up for most of seven or eight months of the

Blog postOne of the most compelling attributes of the GLOCK pistol is its simplicity. The GLOCK 17 pistol has only 34 parts total. Unlike most every other handgun made before 1982, the P80 sported no external switches.
The P80 was not technically the world’s first polymer-framed pistol, nor did it pioneer the striker-fired trigger. The Heckler and Koch VP70 machine pistol featured both more than a decade earlier. However, as the trigger pull on the VP70 was measured in metric tons, that aborti1 week ago Read more -

Blog postHere are some fun facts you may not have known about Winston Churchill…
The world remembers Sir Winston Churchill as a long-serving British statesman and the Prime Minister who guided an underdog Great Britain successfully through World War II. What few history students learn about him is Churchill was very much a gun guy. He had killed enemy combatants with a pistol, loved to shoot and routinely carried a gun.

Blog postImpeachment is all the rage right now, although throughout American political history, only two presidents have earned the coveted impeachment jacket: Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton. Richard Nixon may come to mind, but in that case, he fell into the “always a bridesmaid, never a bride” category as he resigned from office before the completion […]

Blog postThe internet can be useful for things other than passive aggressive aggression. For example, there’s a site that helps you figure out which TV show is reaching a given planet based on the current date and the planet’s distance from the MSNBCNNFOX towers. As I write this, the Tau Cetites are enjoying the very first Power Rangers episode. On a related note, I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize on behalf of all earthlings to citizens of the two potentially habitable planets there. 1 year ago Read more

Blog postJust when you thought that the world couldn’t misplace its collective mind one more time, a story from CNN warns of the societal dangers of robot racism.
Apparently, the Human Interface Technology Laboratory in New Zealand spent a wad of cash figuring out whether robots should be painted white, black, or some in-between color lest people react to them differently. Personally, I don’t care what color my robot is so long as it remembers to close the toilet seat.

Blog postThe truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.
The truth is that we’ve made a costly mistake. Whoever coined the name “turn signals” is gonna have to correct millions of driving instruction manuals. That’s bound to piss someone off, except for maybe Amazon.com.
You see, that pole on the steering column isn’t at all intended to convey an intention. After years of fastidious observation, I’ve determined that it’s a turn coordinator, not a turn signal.

Blog postNot everything ages well. Tweets and rash social media posts are a great example. Twitter’s lack of an edit button ensures that tweet vintage remains pure and unrefined.
Is it worth anything? I don’t care. I’m keeping this one forever. Pretty sure you can’t get green vinyl on Pandora. Music is an exception. The good stuff ages like a fine Cabernet, as does the gear used to experience it.

Starting from the very beginning, The Practical Guide to Reloading Ammunition will help readers understand the gear they need - and what can wait. Chapter by chapter, the book explains the entire process from brass cleaning to final inspection. Loaded with pictures and illustrations, the process is made simple and clear. With this book, readers will be reloading their own cost-effective ammunition quickly and safely.
The Practical Guide to Reloading ammunition focuses on the “how-to” aspects of reloading. Author Tom McHale explains.
“Think of reloading manuals as sheet music. And this book as Mrs. Clutterbuck’s piano lessons. If one develops a sudden urge to play Carnegie Hall, or even Bodean’s Wet Whistle Bar and Bait Shop, they could just order sheet music from the Internet. But it probably wouldn’t be the most direct path to ivory key success. Take some lessons first, then order the sheet music.”
Although the author believes reading this book will be a far more pleasant experience than weekly lessons in Mrs. Clutterbuck’s den, the idea is the same. The guide will teach aspiring reloaders how to get started.
Topics Include:
• Why take up reloading?
• Is reloading right for you?
• What equipment do you need?
• Cleaning and processing brass.
• The reloading process: step by step.
• Pistol caliber reloading.
• Rifle caliber reloading.
• Buying reloading components.
• Advanced equipment options - how gear can speed up the process.
• Introduction to advanced topics.
The Practical Guide to the United States Constitution offers an accurate but entertaining look at the founding documents. It covers the how's, what's, and why's of the United States Constitution, but with a side of fun.
The mission is simple: to make the Constitution so easy to understand that even a career politician can grasp it.
This Practical Guide covers the underlying concepts of natural rights and consent-based government. Hint: it's not to subpoena and investigate each other. The book also clarifies how each of the three primary founding documents, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, work together to define the goals, theory, and mechanics of the American system. The heart of this constitutional owners’ manual is a simplified walk through the contents and meaning of the founding documents. If you’ve ever wanted to know what the Constitution really says, this book is for you.
Reader feedback:
Just finished reading The Practical Guide to The United States Constitution, I wish I could have read this 40 years ago, better yet in government class in high school, 1966. I retired 6 years ago and finally had the time to get educated in the political process and history of this great country. I had to move my library book down to place this one in the top 3 "BEST". This book needs to be in every high school government class as "required" reading to graduate. It's fantastic, factual, easy to read, well organized and spellbinding.
Any time a person can read, have fun and learn something new it's a good deal! Buy this book now!
Tom McHale has managed to keep me reading, in short sessions, for the past week until I finished his delightful, lighthearted explanation of the founding documents of our republic. No heavy tome for law school students, 'The Practical Guide to the United States Constitution' is an engaging, fun read... in a civics primer, no less! Well done, Mr. McHale.
I enjoyed this guide of the Constitution. It was easy to read, witty, and gave everyday explanations. While interpretation may be one thing... the actual words are quite simple. Tom did a nice job... I highly recommend this book for for first time diving into the Constitution.

Let’s face it. Choosing the best way to carry a gun can be a daunting task. Whether you’re new to guns or have been shooting since you were a wee tot, this book can help you understand concealed carry methods, how to carry a gun safely, and the relative pros and cons of over 120 specific holster models. We’ll even teach you several ways to carry a gun in your underwear.
This book will help you make the right choice - saving you time and money - while offering a dose of humor while you learn.
Why do you need a book to choose and buy a holster? A few reasons really.
- At last count, there are 4,187,237 different holsters on the market. Well, that might be an estimate, but there are a lot. If you had a dollar for each of those holsters, you could almost cover the Kardashians’ weekly clothing budget. So how do you choose the right holster with all those choices?
- Hardly any stores carry a wide selection of holsters. Sure they might carry a couple of brands, but will they have a brand right for you and the model specific to your gun? It’s kind of like trying to find just the right shade of Morning Tropical Ocean Breeze Sunrise interior house paint at your local convenience store. It’s just not likely to happen. And that leaves you the option of having to search and buy from… the internet. And we all know that you can’t always believe everything you read on the internet. Well, except Youtube comments. Those are almost always true and insightful.
- You can’t really try holsters out before you buy. Especially those underwear holsters. Gun store sales staff tend to get a little cranky when you start shedding clothes next to the ammunition aisle.
- There are many different styles of concealed carry. Every day, innovative gun folks are inventing new ways to safely and discreetly carry guns. The variety of options is great, but how do you know which style of carry is right for you?
The editors at MyGunCulture.com have painstakingly documented all the holsters we’ve tried over the years and provided helpful commentary about pros and cons of different holster styles. In other words, we’ve tried just about everything. We’ve had great successes. We’ve experienced colossal failures. We’ve listened to so many gun show huckster sales pitches that the late Billy Mays would be impressed. And the result? The Practical Guide to Gun Holsters for Concealed Carry.
Topics Include:
- A brief and entertaining history of holsters.
- Weighing concealment versus accessibility
- Open or concealed carry? How to start an enthusiastic argument.
- Ladies only holster solutions.
- Belt carry holsters - inside, outside and underneath?
- Body carry solutions. Undershirts, belly bands, and harnesses.
- Ankle holsters. You think your ankles were swollen before?
- Pocket holsters. Why some work and others don't.
- You too can carry a gun in your underwear!
- Stashing guns in your clothing. Pants, shirts, and jackets.
- Off premises parking. Ways to carry a gun not attached to your body.
- Home, office and car holster options.
- Magazine carriers and pouches. Ways to easily carry spare ammunition.
Loaded with pictures and the occasional comedic illustration, this book will tell you just about everything you need to know regarding styles of carry and the pros and cons of dozens and dozens of holsters from numerous manufacturers.
Holsters are expensive.
