I came across what is called a Class A bug or game/show stopper bug. A bug where one cannot progress any further in the game.
I did not find the knife (found out by youtube vid and gameplay help) and if one goes into the wolf cave (which I have done), has to come out, one needs the knife in order to do so or; die, die, die by a wolf. When the save reloads, you are placed constantly in the cave. When you come out of the cave, a series of button hits need to be done to kill the wolf. When the knife button is suppose to come up (it doesn't because no knife in inventory), it doesn't display the button mash. Die and repeat.
I either have to find a save prior to or start over, not sure which will get me there and find the knife, unknown where it might be, to get past this part of the game. This is a: dev, programming, scripting error and a huge one.
I will try the game out another time. If I find the knife and don't come across a terrible bug like this again in another part of the game, I may up the star rating of this game.
April 14-2016: I decided to try the game again. Upon Xbox360 boot up, there was an Xbox 360 update and a Tomb Raider game update. I am going to guess that the game update provided the knife and I was able to get through the wolf cave without having to restart the level or game. I have changed the game from 2 stars to 4 for now. One more thing to add... I noticed the update now reflects the proper date and time one saves a game. I was originally showing year 2005 and time way off, now it shows correct military time and year 2016.
This is a 5 star game. With amazing production, and amazing gameplay. The world in this game is probably the most detailed I have ever seen on the Xbox 360. The single player campaign is so good, you could immediately make a second play through and still be on the edge of your seat. Not really anyone playing multiplayer so I can't rate that. And unfortunately there is no system link. All the ?Game of Year? stuff is in the form of DLC codes, and not on the disk. Most of the DLC is centered around the multiplayer. You do get an additional Tomb to explore, and a few new costumes for single player (all DLC cards). So I really can't recommend spending extra on the game of the year version. Everything you need for a great experience is on the standard disk, so save a few bucks and get that instead. If your a skilled gamer play it on hard. May be to easy for Jedi's
I guess I may officially be Tomb Raider fan now.
Whether you are a Tomb Raider fan or not--GET THIS! It is a great game to add to your collection!
