Firstly I give 5 stars because I really enjoyed reading this story and discovering these two main characters. Flynn and Jaynie seemed to be so real, so not fictionnal. It was so easy to get to know them through each other's eyes. Understand the almost not understandable. Their voices were strong and moving and I found it was hard not to think about them when I had to close the book.

Something I also liked about this book is the depth of the topics brought to life in this heart breaking and great love story. Sometimes I thought I was reading a YA contemporary romance but beacause these characters were so broken and in need to be fixed, I realized I was in so much more than just a YA or New Adult novel. It truly is a Coming of Age book, the kind that gives the right definition to this genre. S.R Grey got it right by sometimes being both raw and sweet. It needed to be this way : without make up or lies. It was intense, like nothing else I read before.

Because thanks to this novel, you can see how ugly and unfair life can be, you can also get how beautiful, lively and lovely it has to become. Tomorrow's Lies tells a story of fighting demons and getting saved and healed by the one and only. I was moved by the evolution of Jaynie and Flynn's relationship and I adored them together so much. But I also adored the others characters and how everyone and everything have a powerful meaning. In the end, it was also about family and friendship.

I'm happy to know there is going to be a sequel! And I really hope everyone gets to discover Tomorrow's Lies : you'll love the amazing and beautiful writing, you'll feel so much and you'll definitly spend an unforgettable trip by reading this new novel by S.R. Grey.

Happy reading!

Tomorrow’s Lies by S.R. Grey
Book #1: Promises Series
Source: ARC from author
My Rating: 5/5 stars
My Review:

I finished this book in a single sitting, walked out of my bedroom at 12:30 in the morning, looked at my husband and said, “Well that was a soul-crushing read.” In short, a very typical S.R. Grey read 

Jaynie Cumberland sees herself as a victim, a girl broken by a monster. Her seriously selfish mother abandoned her to the foster care system in which she was raped repeatedly while the state spent six weeks getting the paperwork in order to have her removed from the home. Never, ever would she have imagined that the awful is only just beginning for her. The new home Jaynie is placed in has a wonderful reputation and though everything appears to be fine, appearances are often deceptive. Jaynie’s new home is far from fine and she quickly figures out she is a prisoner in what amounts to a labor camp. The days are long, the work is demanding, and if the daily quotas aren’t met then food is withheld.

Flynn O’Neill has been in the house of horrors for far longer than Jaynie and has learned how to work the system to the best of his abilities. He swipes extra nutrition bars where he can, he does most of the heavy lifting for the girls and smaller kids, he has discovered a place of solitude he rarely shares with others, and he has an escape plan should the situation ever get too hairy. He is friends with Mandy and co-care-taker of the young twins, but Jaynie is a cat of a different color. From the moment Flynn sees Jaynie his life is changed. Flynn is just as damaged as Jaynie and recognizes her hurt but he also sees something more, a survivor.

Heartbreakingly beautiful story about a couple who found love in a dark place... Not an easy read but so worth it!!!

Jaynie Cumberland has gone through a very tough childhood. Her mom abandoned her and Jaynie was forced into the foster care system at a young age. She carries a lot of insecurities, after being left behind by every person she's ever loved.

After being hurt yet again, Jaynie feels completely broken and now her only hope is counting down the days until she turns eighteen so she can finally escape the system that's failed her so many times, and start a new life. With only a few months before she becomes of age, Jaynie is placed in a new home that is supposed to be a wonderful place for orphans.

The other kids in this new home are wonderful to Jaynie, especially the beautiful guy that keeps lighting up her days with his gorgeous smile. Unfortunately nothing is what it seems and after the social worker leaves her under the care of her new foster mom, she learns her new reality. This new place turns out to be hell for Jaynie and the other kids, they all have to work very hard to earn meals or any other basic privileges. Being exploited on day to day basis, brings these kids closer and they grow protective of each other, forming a family of their own, because even though they all have been through so much pain, they all have so much love to give.

Flynn O'Neill hasn't been lucky in life either. After his mother died his father turned into a monster and shattered everything in Flynn's life. His pain and grief took him to the streets for a life of misery and after getting caught committing a crime, he's placed in foster care. Flynn is very protective of the other kids in the house.
