I have seen people complaining about the pump. I don't know what they are expecting. You would, of course, not get a $10 pump with a $16 stability ball. The pump which comes with this ball worked fine, at least for me. Yes, it is small pump and it is a workout in itself to inflate the ball with a this pump (because it's a small pump and you have pump a lot), but I did inflate the ball. The pump didn't break or anything. And you don't inflate-deflate a stability ball on daily basis, until and unless that is what you do for a time pass.
I would recommend this product for someone who is 5'8"-6" tall.
*(OCTOBER UPDATE BELOW)
After reading some of the reviews I was hesitant to place an order, but for the price and being backed by AMAZON.. I took a chance.
Worried that I might receive an odd-shaped ball or one being 10 or more centimeters smaller than described, (as stated by some reviews) I went ahead and threw this in my cart and hoped for the best.
Upon arrival I opened the box and was surprised to feel a "grippy" texture (Yeah, I made up a word) and figured I'd go ahead and inflate it.
Inflating took about 3 minutes with the cheap looking but highly effective pump. I grabbed the included length of plastic they call a tape measure (just blank white strip of plastic with a hole on each end,) and measured the ball. The ball was roughly 55CM, 10 shy of the advertised 65. I figured I'd leave it for the night and give it another pump once the ball had time to settle before I hop on Amazon and pitch a fit.
The next day I pull out the pump and begin the process. It inflated to the desired size and wasn't at all egg shaped.
I was pleased...
I realized I better add weight before I get too happy, so I sat on it. I sat as if I was going to take a seat on an oak bench without any fear of collapse, and the ball withstood all 150LBS like a champ.
Aside from the length of plastic, which really they don't need to include, I'm quite happy with this purchase.
This ball saved me about $10 from the local brick & mortar and about $6 on a more popular ball here on Amazon.
If you're someone wanting to try out a stability ball but aren't willing or wanting to pay $20 or more, I urge you to give this a chance and see if it meets your approval. There's nothing to lose. If you get a lemon, send it back! ...But, just like me, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
I'll even add a photo when I get a chance.
Also, if by chance I sit on this one day and fall to the floor in stunned, disbelief because the ball bursts, I'll be sure to update my review.
* UPDATE 1: (7th Oct. 2014)
This ball is still going strong. I love it. I plan on purchasing a couple more as gifts for the holidays. Together with this ball, eating properly, and various other forms of exercise I'm down 40 pounds since April. I'm currently 7 pounds from achieving my goal weight. I found one of the benefits of the ball is that it greatly reduces the monotony of exercise. After 6+ months one can find themselves feeling less inclined to keep reaching for their goals so we need all the help we can get. Anyway, this particular ball hasn't leaked, burst, weakened as of yet and has proven to be an excellent purchase. Even allows for an extra chair when all the seats in the room have been occupied.
I hope I've been helpful to anyone requiring this equipment and good luck to all of you on your path to reaching your goals and better overall health!
