Product Description

Achieve and Maintain Vintage Tone Now. One of the secrets of great tone is continually playing-in your instrument. The ToneRite is the world's most advanced and premier play-in device. Utilizing the same physics as you playing your instrument, the ToneRite can significantly accelerate the play-in process and provide you with increased tone, playability and balance. The ToneRite makes all of this available in a nearly silent, high quality, and portable manner. The secret behind the ToneRite is its ability to continually produce and efficiently transfer vibrational energy into an instrument, safely recreating and magnifying the physics that occur naturally while playing. This stimulation produces a change to the integrated components within an instrument and increases their ability to resonate together as a whole. The result is added volume and instruments that are easier to play with a sound that is more full and balanced. Not only will your instrument sound better but the notes themselves will come easier, allowing you to play more difficult passages with less fatigue. All new 3rd Generation! We have now released the all-new 3rd generation ToneRite for guitar! These 3rd generation models are hot off the press and represent the newest and most advanced ToneRite yet. The third generation can be used equally well on steel or nylon string acoustics as well as archtops and hollowbodies! Some of the improvements of the 3rd generation are provided below. "After one week with the ToneRite on the guitar, the voice of my LaVenezia opened-up beautifully!" Robert Benedetto; Benedetto Guitars, Inc.

Believe it or not - this does seem to work. I have an older classical guitar that hadn't had much playing time on it. It had sounded rather dull so I purchased the ToneRite and put it on the guitar for about 4 straight days. After the treatment I played the guitar and it seemed to come alive. I have quite a few classical guitars that I go through stages of playing. I plan on rotating the ToneRite through my collection on their down time. It is easy to mount on the guitar, I suspend my guitar from a guitar wall mount during treatment so very little of the guitar is dampened from the vibrations. I feel the product is a bit over priced for what you get ($150.00). If the company cut the price in half, 10 times more people would be willing to try it. I will try and update my review in a few months when I try this on more of my guitars.

The answer to the question everyone is asking: Does the ToneRite actually make your instruments sound better? The answer: YES. I was VERY skeptical, but was made a believer by trying it. I used it on a high end guitar (Taylor 812C), lower-end guitar (Taylor GS Mini), and several high-end ukuleles (Kanilea Customs, KoAloha Signature Models, Kamaka Concert, etc)--because, yes, it fits perfectly on the ukulele and you can feel free to eschew their marked-up ukulele model. The device made noticeable changes in the tone of each instrument. The result for all of them was greater volume, longer sustain, and more "responsiveness" when playing. Admittedly, the degree to which each instrument improved did vary. But the results were resounding successes--especially with my newer and less-played instruments.

I don't believe that the ToneRite is anything magical. I bet the stories of it having an $8 aquarium pump inside are probably true. And yes, I think it is a bit overpriced at $150. But the bottom line is that it does work. When you put it on your instruments, you can feel the entire instrument vibrating, so it is definitely doing something. However, as someone with limited time to play his instruments, but also wants his instruments to sound as good as possible, the ToneRite seemed to be a good investment...especially now that I know it actually works.

I've used it on 10 instruments, which makes the price per treatment roughly $15. However, the average price of these instruments was probably $1500 with a range of $500 to $3000. Does the ToneRite make each instrument sound 1% better on average? ($15/$1500). Without a doubt, yes. And that is why for me, although it may be the most expensive aquarium pump in the world, it was worth every penny.

The toneRite does what it says...but it's not magic. It won't make a poor instrument into a great instrument. I used it on an adirondack topped new guitar. After 1 week treatment I noticed that the sound seemed to be someone more open, the sustain improved and the overtones a bit stronger. I bought this because of the stiffness of adirondack tops and the long "play in" time. The toneRite definitely helped my guitar sound better.

I must agree with the other poster with reference to this product. It does work, but to a point. Firstly it has to be a Solid-Topped instrument, and it won't take a piece of po op and make it sparkle. It brought back much of the zing with my spruce topped Jumbo Taylor 610, which was sounding rather dull recently and would imaging it would work best for Spruce (as opposed to cedar) topped instruments...

First off, I am fully in understanding of the purpose of the ToneRight. It will accelerate the break in process of your new guitar and restore the sound of an older guitar that has been dormant. I decided to try it out first on my Aria AC-80 classical guitar (I did play it first to see if I could get a feeling for the improvement) and then let the guitar and ToneRight sit (on a guitar stand) for the initial 144 hours (6 days). Wow, after I played that guitar I could not believe the power and projection. I kept looking down at the guitar in amazement as it seemed to be amplified. Seriously!

Next, I placed the ToneRight on a more higher end classical guitar (I changed the strings first...which I did not do the last time which I highly recommend) and I got the same results. I used the middle setting on the ToneRight and placed the ToneRight as close to the bridge as possible. I just purchased a new Ramirez 1a and after my initial playing I plan on putting the ToneRight on that guitar. A previous post stated to watch the humidity...so that is sage advice. Not an issue for me though, where I live.

The ToneRight really works and as far as I am concerned the price is right. I have been a major Amazon customer for years and this is my first review. I definitely needed to chime in on this one. As advertised "The ToneRite® is not designed to make a poor instrument great, it is simply designed to bring out the best in an instrument." Put this on a high end guitar and you will be amazed! I am!

I used this for my guitar, and it sounds much better. At least that's my sense.

One thing...I hadn't been hydrating my guitar and the air was dry when I used it.
All the vibration cracked the back of my guitar in 2 places.
Make sure you hydrate your guitar before using it. Better yet, don't use it in dry air.
