Thanks to the platinum success of his debut album Waiting For My Rocket To Come, Jason Mraz became the artist development story of the year in 2003. Released in late 2002, that acclaimed album continued growing throughout 2003 on the strength of two hits - "The Remedy (I Won't Worry)" & "You & I Both" - & the effusive word-of-mouth surrounding Jason's brilliant, exhilarating & often hilarious live concert performances. & now that charm & excitement has been captured in its entirety on Tonight, Not Again: Jason Mraz Live At The Eagles Ballroom, a very special (and specially priced) two disc set including an audio CD of his concert from Milwaukee's Eagles Ballroom, plus a video DVD of the concert plus tons of backstage & behind-the-scenes Mraz goodness. Besides favorites like "The Remedy," "You & I Both" & a ripping rendition of "Curbside Prophet" featuring John Popper, the album includes live versions of five previously unreleased Mraz tunes.

I bought Waiting For My Rocket To Come in 2003 at a friend's suggestion. Sorta liked it, then forgot about the album for a while until the recent release of Mr. A-Z and his performance here in Singapore in March.
Thanks to an unbelievable acoustic concert ( completely sold out, by the way ), not only has Mr. Mraz cemented his position at the top of my list of best 'live' performance EVER ( beating Sting, Michael Buble and Robbie Williams hands down ), his Tonight Not Again recording offers irrefutable proof that he is quite possibly the most talented singer/songwriter anywhere on the planet.
I've got it played to death on my stereo, but never tire of it. Everyone knows he's a phenomenal vocalist, especially on stage. Pitch perfect, beautiful tone, flawless diction, yet overflowing with raw emotion and cheeky humour all at the same time. Not an easy feat!
Every single one of the 15 tracks on this FABULOUS CD is a classic, from crowd favourites You And I Both and The Remedy, to the rockin' Curbside Prophet and Too Much Food.
His rendition of Absolutely Zero is pure heaven. It's a gorgeous song to begin with, but once he hits the power notes, I'm totally gone. :)
Love love LOVE Not So Usual, a rock number with some pretty - ahem - interesting lyrics which are truly hilarious. And those sweet whimsical melodies on 1000 Things and After An Afternoon send chills down my spine.
I haven't even watched the DVD yet!
This dude puts John Mayer to shame. Someone needs to redirect a chunk of Grammy Awards to Jason Mraz before I lose all respect for the American music industry.
P.S. JM did an excellent cover of the Black-Eyed Peas' Where Is The Love? during his March gig here. The Peas could learn a few lessons from Jason, 'cos his version was so different ( a slow quiet ballad, almost like a lullaby ) yet so freaking awesome.
Mr. Mraz, YOU ROCK!
Buy this album, and get everybody you know to do the same.
Performing songs that folks will know and love: Tonight, Not Again, You and I Both, Too Much Food, The Remedy (I Won't Worry) to name a few. This is an excellent live cd with both the cd and DVD version included as well for twice the effect.
An excellent pickup regardless of the style of music you enjoy as it will have humming along after just a few notes. An excellent artist and band on its way and doing it their own way.
