Too Human is a video game that offers a re-telling of Norse mythology, surrounding the Norse Aesir, or Gods, who are futuristically machine-like in nature. The Norse god Baldur is tasked with leading a fight against Loki, who is using his army of machines to wipe out humanity, but Baldur is different; he's "too human." The soundtrack by Steve Henifin is phenomenal, being somber, epic, grand and beautiful all at the same time, showcasing a captivating world of futuristic weapons, gods and a mix of magic with science. If you were to compare his soundtrack to anything, it would be Howard Shore's Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film scores, John Debney's Lair and honestly, a bit of Jerry Goldsmith's The 13th Warrior. Just the sound of trumpets blaring, the pounding of drums and the beautiful sweeping violins and violas help to swipe you of your feet and take you to a new world. This is definitely a must-listen score, if not a must-buy.

Good sounds. If you listen to Braveheart / Lord of the Rings / Titanic soundtracks this CD is a perfect fit.

This is an awesome score! I found it by chance. I read an extremely complimentary online review of this CD while I was i-net searching mythology. Being a fan of epic movie soundtracks, I decided to take a chance on "Too Human" because the review I read lead me to believe that it was far more than what might be expected of a videogame score (i.e. Norse influences, Prague chorus, award nomination,...). I am extremely glad that I did "gamble" on this CD. It is fantastic!!! It is a dynamic composition which always maintains a hauntingly ancient sound, yet also feels like a modern sci-fi / adventure movie score as well. It feels like it could be a score for Conan the Barbarian or Lord of the Rings, while simultaneously feeling like the new Star Trek, but with more longing for an ancient connection. The Norse vocals (choral and solos) are amazing, as is the rest of the score. If I've not been clear, let me say, I REALLY liked it. I must also say that I have not played the game that this score comes from, but I cannot imagine this beautiful score being tainted with "Metal" songs as another reviewer mentioned. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys bold, epic scores which blend electronic, choral, and symphonic elements flawlessly.

I've never played the video game and I don't know its storyline, but I was convinced to buy this soundtrack when I listened to the samples.
I particularly enjoyed the orchestral arrangements and the driving beat. Another excellent point of this soundtrack is the choral performances, which manage to put me "in the action".
Definitely recommended.

I listened to a few samples of this album and I was instantly hooked.
I'm not a video game player, however I've always been fascinated by the great music some composers have created for them.
This particular soundtrack combines a melodic orchestral works with the beauty of a chorus and violin accompaniments. This combination gives the soundtrack an epic quality and a sense of mystery and adventure.
I'm glad to have added this soundtrack to my collection.
