      This is my first experience with the "S&G Tool Aid Brand" tools but this crimping tool is an excellent performer and very well made! It creates evenly tightened and complete crimps on each use with little effort! If I were to have to say anything negative, I would have to comment on the lack of written instructions accompanying this tool to aid those unfamiliar with weather-pack terminals and ratcheting crimping tool adjustments. However, within 20 minutes of experimenting with the tool adjustments, I was able to completely figure out how it functions and make necessary adjustments to the settings to begin use in actual connection construction. I would highly recommend this tool to anyone seeking to use weather-pack waterproof connection terminals and/or sensor terminal construction as an affordable and practical tool to add to your inventory. Thus far, I have no regrets and have used this to make several connections of my own. Hopefully in the future, S&G Tools will make the additional crimping dies for other types of connectors available without having to buy an entire kit such as the S&G #18980.

      Not sure what some of the other reviews are talking about when they say it doesn't work with weatherpack connectors. It worked perfectly for me and I gotta say I should have bought a ratcheting crimper a long time ago. So much easier and much more secure. Wish Tool Aid sold the rest of the dies as a pack without another ratcheting crimper. I can use one but unless I sprout two more arms....I can't use another. Great tool for the money and well made.

      The S&G Tool Aid 18930 is NOT designed to crimp "most Weatherpack Terminals" as claimed. It will not correctly crimp the seal on the end of the terminal. The Weatherpack terminals are designed with a rubber seal to be placed at the end of the terminal to make them weatherproof (go figure). This tool crimps the second crimp by folding the tangs in like it does with the wire (first) crimp. The ears of the sealed Weatherpack terminals will not fit correctly nor crimp correctly around the rubber seal when inserted in this tool. It is a rather well built ratcheting crimp tool for standard open barrel terminals and should work well in a non-production application.

      These crimpers give you are great crimp every time. I do a lot of work on boats and it doesn't matter if you use a standard connector or heat shrink style crimp this tool delivers every time. On thing I always look for is a consistent crimp that doesn't let the wires slip out nor does it cut the plastic. I have used these for over a year and they still work like new.

      After reading some of these negative reviews....I have to say that if the crimp isn't coming out right, it's user error. These things work great for sealed terminals. Wish I could post a picture. First time using a ratcheting crimp tool and I am using it for vw sealed terminals and it is working great. My crimps are close to factory appearance.

      I purchase this tool to do a simple repair on my 2016 HD Street Glide Special the tool gave me such a headache in crimping it would egg shape the connector or cut through the insalation. It DOES NOT CRIMP WEATHER PACK or METRI PACK GT150 OR GT280 SERIES from DELPHI OR TE CONNECTIVITY terminals it wasn't even worth the $30. I went out and spent $44 dollars on ratchet handle that accepts interchangeable die sets, I purchased $120 die set for Metri pack Gt 150 and GT 280 a seperate one just for wether pack $87 die set. THAT TOOL makes absolutely Flawless one crimp motion. I guess you really do get what you pay. If you really want a good tool get the Waytek 4300 series crimp tool and dies sets

      I didn't want to drop a bunch of dough on a ratcheting crimper, so this is what I bought. I've had some trouble getting the crimps correct though and believe a better (ie., more expensive) ratcheting crimper would do more to insure the crimp was strong. Three stars, because it does work.

      UPDATE 9/2016:
      So, it took some usage for the tool to loosen up and now I'm getting rightful crimps with this baby. Adding a star.

      UPDATE 1/24/2020:
      So I'm not sure what happened or what I'm doing differently, but this crimper is crushing my metripak 280 fittings. Sorry, but I revoke my recommendation and will use my plier-like crimp tool.

      Remember that they can be adjusted for how much pressure is placed on the wire crimp. If you can squeeze these closed as they come to you, then it is likely that you will not need to make any changes to these crimpers. It not, then you can reduce the amount of tension needed to complete the crush cycle and make worthy connections!
